(8,387 posts)A criminal trial with complete motion practice and appeals on every freaking ruling (regardless of whether they are appealable)... getting all the way to a verdict in a couple of years... I doubt he makes it.
Texas AG's Ken Paxton's federal indictment celebrated its seventh birthday recently. If his indictment was a child, it is already in school and probably able to read.
We may be able to get some of his merry band of fuckups behind bars, though.
With his age and lifestyle, it's a mystery what keeps him alive.

(55,334 posts)Instead of being cremated, his "remains" get "buried" next to his beloved first wife by the 19th hole. Then it's nothing but mai thais and blood transfusions from missing orphans for his remaining 55 years

(15,909 posts)Trump might (although I wish I was more certain this would be true) be sentenced to a prison term.
He won't ever see the inside of a regular prison, however, probably not even a "Club Feb" type of place. This is a matter of security and accommodating his Secret Service protection.
The worst I can see him having to endure is house arrest. I sure hope that if he gets house arrest, he isn't allowed luxurious conditions.

(2,339 posts)I know, I should not say never but can't see that happening. I can see him being confined to his residence though. Time will tell. Frankly, I'm happy if he simply cannot hold office again -- I'd really prefer to see him gone but can't do much about that.
All the lawsuits will keep him busy and drain his non-existent bank account, and that also makes me happy because he deserves it.
Silent3
(15,909 posts)...his communications will probably be limited. I don't think, if technically serving prison time, he'll be allowed to use his time stoking up the base and living large as a media personality.

(8,387 posts)It's weird how people think a little cardboard book has magical powers.
If Putin would welcome you to Russia, you do not need a passport to go there.

(12 posts)I read that (because a f-ing criminal isnt supposed to be in the white house ) there arent provisions for this - he would still be entitled to secret service protection in jail.
How would that work. I think congress would have to change some of the provisions to get that taken away.

(43,202 posts)He knows too many state secrets. In fact I'm surprised he's not on closely
monitored isolation right now. Presumption of guilt or innocence shouldn't
matter with all the sensitive information he has seen.
