Tell me about your internet connection. The speed of your internet connection has a lot to do with how fast you can download files, see pictures, watch videos etc.
Don't need to know what type or service provider, just a general idea of how fast your connection is.
Specific to DU.

(8,593 posts)...you can usually type in "speed test" in a Google search and it will have a button you can click where it will test your speed for you.

(5,104 posts)Honestly, as the internet cable provider has continually raised the theoretical throughput speeds over the years, I have not experienced any real-world difference as an end user once having a minimum threshold.

(60,967 posts)so I fall into the "very fast" category, I guess.
Usually enough to stream video and video chat with no major problems on my end.

Whatever they are or do as a company, they have pretty reliable internet at not bad prices and I would only switch when you pry the bits out of my cold dead hands! Or offer something faster, cheaper and just as reliable.

(17,755 posts)It's not "high speed".
It's like early 4g speeds.
AndyS
(14,559 posts)and the at present the fastest available is 15 mbs so 25 looks good. Fiber has come to town (thank ya' Biden) and I'm on the waiting list for 100 mbs.
I takes 5 to stream from a streaming service (they build in a buffer on their end) and the same to download large images (20-100 megapixel). I'm interested in the image download capability for DUers.

(70,989 posts)...I'm about 30Mb download speed on WiFi and something over 50Mb if direct ethernet to the modem.
So, a pretty decent speed but not gig speed. That's really expensive!
