If Dems defy odds and retain the House, does McCarthy remain Minority Leader?

Here's some interesting speculation. Dems still have some odds to overcome in order to maintain in control of the House. However, if that happens, will Kevin McCarthy be able to retain his position as Minority Leader? He's not the most loved Republican in the House by his peers and he will certainly shoulder some blame if Dems do retain the majority.

So, given this hypothetical, does he remain in charge of the House Republicans if they are in the minority or does someone else such as Scalise or Stefanik or even Greene take over?
