My suggestion is for the Democratic underground to have its own mastodon server. Everyone here would join and it would give us much more exposure on the internet. I would love to contribute every month to this effort. What do you think guys?

Anyone on the internet can view content here.
Only advantage I can see straight away is the federation. Is that what you mean by exposure?
And that would double the admin chores, including the infrequently mentioned hack-proofing.
Maybe there could be some inclusion of ActivityPub, the protocol that underlies Mastodon. Tell the overworked admins! I may comment on the protocol as soon as I set aside some time to figure out what the heck it is.

(35,621 posts)Based on the evaluation on friends with disabilities (visual impairment, hearing impairment, ADD/ADHD) as well as a need for relatively high tech skills.
It is an issue on most social media, but it is exacerbated on Mastadon due to the distributed nature of the media (making less uniformity in accessibility, as each server adopts it's own rules and practices). Still looking for an alternative to fill the void left by the demise if a reasonably functional Twitter that will be more, not less, accessible.
