(3,841 posts)I vote for them, whoever they may be. I have read that seeing our sphere from space changes you, and burning one, well that is icing on the cake. So maybe Snoop dog needs his own trip on the amazon phallus to space.

(8,355 posts)Although I was glad to see that EarlG had been nominated, I doubt he has the time. No, I think I could do a better job.
First I'd hire back everybody who's been fired, via generous rehire bonuses. They would do their old jobs, while I called all the advertisers to tell them the nightmare was over, and to please consider coming back. Then, once the old employees were settled back at their old desks or sofas, I would ask them to submit, in 25 words or less, the innovation they would most like to see at Twitter. They could make more than one submission, but only 25 words per idea. Then a brand new set of employees would sift through the ideas for improvement submitted, and decide which ones to implement, with nice thank you notes to all who had submitted.
For instance, Twitter could give out monthly awards to public spiritedness, nominations for which could be voted on by all Tweeters.
I might introduce the "leopard tongue" icon, which would notify users that the person who had a pink tongue icon with a small black spot on it could be expected to indulge in a vulgarism from time to time. The tongue would have no other effect than that.
I would certainly introduce the "yuk yuk" icon, perhaps a tiny clown, which would notify users that these icons indicate that the person has been detected being serially funny.
Tweeters could nominate Tweeters for public office if they run across someone they like better than their own representative, and these nominations would be copied to the appropriate major party offices. In fact, minor parties would also be acceptable. We need all the public servants we can get, if they really would serve the public.
In fact, we should probably make recommendations periodically about who Tweeters favor in real elections. Then we could issue Tweet Endorsements, and the media would have another set of data to chew over endlessly.
I would definitely steal the Hearts idea from DU, in which everybody could give hearts to their favorite Tweeters. If we got enough advertisers back, hearts would be cheap and plentiful. Perhaps we need some other emo-symbols, like four-leaf clovers, little Christmas trees or menorahs, and like that.
Anyhow, those are just a few ideas off the top of my head. As long as I could do the job in 45 min. per day or less, I feel I would do a fine job, certainly an unexpected one.
