I read a comment

in reply to these horrendous activities, of white Mississippi police officers toward these two human beings that "retraining" with question mark might prevent these types of atrocities. Does anyone remember Emmitt Till? That is my question in relation to comments that advise retraining. Many many generations of black Americans have faced these types of gruesome agonies. And since 1619 this has been a fact. I am truly sick of the hate that was unleashed and is still being advocated by an ex-POTUS running for this nation's highest office...again. And that running for office being that clown's effort to stay out of prison.

might help in some instances. And .. it also represents one of the few tools we have at our disposal.

(also like to add that really, really bad training currently in place is a contributing factor .. )

And none of the above really has anything to do with the presented case alleging deliberate torture. I'm hoping most people (both in and out of uniform) would agree?

Thank you Donald J. Trump for lending your stamp of approval and consent for these AmeriKKKan Fascist atrocities to readily occur on a frequent basis.

They look like having murdered at least two other men.

Every police force ought to be independently audited regularly.

Weed out the creeps.

The cop unions don't want that for a reason. And I'm a big supporter of unions.

During initial training, give officers a list of zero tolerance behaviors that will be grounds for not only termination, but legal prosecution.

good solution.

Yet I am at my wits end on how to keep malevolently racist wannabe cops in training and tests to bring those feelings out. Where they grew up, as in those Mississippi and really investigating their past. Past education. If vets did they have past problems in the military. Definitely, social media comments related to race, culture etc. Realistic training with black and white silhouettes such as a mother, both races, holding a child. Given the murder of Tamir Rice 12 years old in Cleveland Ohio, small black and white silhouettes. Training to show what kind of fears that trainee is bringing with him or her on entry into any police force.

Maybe unrealistic but this is a start as I see it.

that can identify personality traits and qualities that are desirable or undesireable for law enforcement personnel. They could be used for screening applicants. I know of one psych test, the MMPI, that is not possible to cheat on. It is designed to detect lying. I have taken it and it was amazingly accurate. I had to take it as part of the screening process to become a volunteer Big Sister. In addition, I had to have a personal interview with the local director of the program, a home visit by her, a police background check, and 4 written character references.

That's the kind of screening process that LE should use.
