When hovering over the name the link reads "aid@theinsuranceassistance.com". When I searched for "The insurance assistance.com" the website was titled "The Health Insurance Helpers."
Maybe there is nothing illegal or problematic about this company, but I didn't like the use of the President's name in that faux official way. (And yes, I do tend to be suspicious about anything unfamiliar.) I just thought that I would inform this community in case someone else is perplexed as I was.
I'm also hoping that this is the correct sub-forum in which to post this thread. Please accept my apologies if I made the wrong judgement call in this instance.

(9,790 posts)Open enrollment for Medicare began Sunday. Our household is struggling to get appointments despite insurance coverage. There are not enough doctors and nurses and WAY too many 'for profit' scumbags.

(17,285 posts)Jf someone wants to change coverage or providers the time to switch is October thru December.
The privatized Medicare insurance companies know ghis is the perfect time to trick people to get out of government administered Medicare and hoodwinked them into privatized Medicare. It is called Medicare Advantage Plans.
Thing is they offer you all sorts of incentives to switch such as free dental, free eye glasses, free gym membership, free spending cards, and free OTC goods and toiletries. But when it comes to needing medical care coverage as you get older down the road then they deny medical coverage when you most need it. They refuse to provide your medical needs and just send you home to die because their profits are too important to waste on you.
Be careful before you switch to privatized Medicare and avoid Medicare Advantage Plans.

(1,875 posts)Here it is, a couple weeks later and I just received another weird, totally unrelated email from "aid@theinsuranceassistance.com".
This email lists "Faith-Based Degree Pr. . . (I'm guessing the completed word is "program" ) as the sender. The title reads, "Cultivate your mind without compromising your heart." My immediate thought was, Man, these people do not know me at all.
Oh, well, perhaps I should thank The Insurance Assistance people. After moving that nonsense to the trash, I realized that I hadn't emptied the trash in awhile. Now, that felt extra good.
