Conservative Charlie Sykes bashed Republicans who are casting about for an alternative to Donald Trump but would still vote for him if he's the Republican nominee.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis appeared to be a strong challenger to Trump when he first entered the race, but he became the latest GOP candidate to falter against the quadruple-indicted former president, and Sykes told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that even anti-Trump Republicans would eventually coalesce around him.
"Republicans, one after another, are about to line up behind this elderly, crazed, accused felon and bigot as the next president of the United States," Sykes said. "I mean, it is a remarkable moment, that with everything that we have seen and heard from Donald Trump, everything that he continues to say in real time, that even people like [New Hampshire Gov.] Chris Sununu will say, well, yes, if he is the nominee, I'm absolutely going to put party loyalty over country."
"It is truly an extraordinary moment," he added, "even after the seven years we've all lived through."

Has he made a 180-degree turn to speak out against radical right-wing AKA the Scott Walker's in the current political arena?
Same guy or not?

(7,018 posts)...and his dismantling of the democratic cornerstones in the "Wisconsin Experiment." Designed to build a model to disrupt other democratic states' governance, Donald Trump would not have been a blip on any national radar screen.
And that leads me to believe without Charlie Sykes' and others in Wisconsin bolstering Scott Wakers' agenda. Trump would never have made it to the national stage
He has been a well-known conservative voice in the Milwaukee area going on thirty years.
