And he's completely above the law. I hope I'm wrong though.

but mostly based on the history that he skates through absolutely everything and is never held accountable for anything. He will walk away from this. I know that I will be labeled a "doomsayer" here, but when the same thing happens for decades, I kinda think it might happen again.

If convicted, he'll probably get a slap on the wrist.

Either way, I'm either accidentally right or accidentally wrong. On the other hand, I'm confident there will be more than one guilty verdict.

However I doubt he will go to jail. He will get probation or the like.

Friendlier judges on appeal, Supreme Court if necessary.

If he coups his way into power it's all over, he'd dissolve the entire court system before he goes to prison. But he won't have to, the Supreme Court would suspend any sentence until his term is over.

In practice, I think guilty, quite possibly on all counts, but no prison time. Parole, maybe even suspended pending appeal.

Best case scenario is house arrest, which he'd turn into a reality show circus and probably then win the election because our media eats that shit up. So maybe that's actually the worst case scenario..

12. The trump trials are a circus, a distraction and evidence of our failed system.

Of course, Trump is guilty. Trump's guilt is a career advancement for 1000s of "professionals". Rinse and repeat. Hard not to be cynical.

The failure isn't the Constitution but that our politics, laws, and courts are corrupt and for open sale. Add churches and the military.

Hard to keep faith or stability when drowned in an ocean of cognitive dissonance and lies.

I am old and sick and bugged that my curiosity about the outcomes will not be satisfied before croak. Had a discussion recently with a close friend of over 50 years. We are both in 70s, have chronic health problems, and each several times recovered from hospital trips or procedures that keep us alive. Jim told me to relax, nothing we could do but vote, and would not be around to see the outcome because we will be dead. Been mostly there since went through first round of chemo in 2018.

That's sensible advice but easier said than taken.

I'm in the second half of my seventies and fearful I will live to see the outcome...

The World is still full of surprises.

Basic problem is far too many people and technology digging a bigger hole instead of being a solution in most cases.

Hope the young have many good ideas.

..if convicted. But, that isn't the primary outcome I'm hoping for. Which is not to say I think prison time would be excessive retribution; quite the contrary. If the country was already under a dictatorship and I was the dictator, he'd have been exiled from the country long, long ago. Or worse...

I just want to see a conviction to show him he isn't above the law and no one individual is entitled to special treatment because he's rich or powerful or a former President. He has destroyed many lives and careers because of his narcissistic and evil mental state and is indirectly responsible for the deaths of a lot of people.

An acquittal will an egregious misjustice to the country...

One of MSNBC legal pundits reiterated the prosecutor has to convince 12 jurors Trump is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Trump's lawyer needs to persuade only one juror that Trump isn't.
