(2,208 posts)but it's frustrating, because IMHO without this BS going on in gaza right now, I'd be feeling pretty comfortable. Well, as comfortable as I can be knowing that just under half of America is dumber than a box of rocks.

I believe it comes down to Michigan, Georgia and Arizona. We need 2 of those 3 to keep Biden in office and I am pessimistic about Michigan.

(2,638 posts)..I'm not forecasting, just looking at polls, listening to headlines and concerned over how many voters don't think like we at DU think.
Add to that the Trump party's ratcheted up propaganda to an all time high, Trump party plans to to screw with the elections and the situation is disconcerting.
I hear Joe is going to rev up his negative campaign at Trump after the current trial ends which might help.
And if the jury can convict Trump on at least on of the charges, that will help.

(306,135 posts)And, I think you are... Just what we need.. More Concern Negativity.. Not.
We're Going to WIN In Spite of All the Evil Forces Against Us.. and that Includes the US Media and All their Damn "polls".
We've always had to deal with this to Fight for Our Democracy.. Too many Greedy Asshole Idiots out there and Cult Morons.

(2,638 posts)..and didn't want to light anyone's fuse but positive thinking alone won't reelect Joe.
As you noted, there are too many greedy idiots and cult morons and no one knows how many of them want Trump back in office or what they will do to get him back in office.

(25,037 posts)Part of the propaganda is how well they are doing in comparison to Biden. Their reason for that particular propaganda line is to set the stage for claiming fraud if he loses. It's a 2020 repeat.
A Biden win is no shoe-in. The nation's political climate is different today from 2020. We have to work harder for votes this time than in 2020. But we can win this.
Septua
(2,638 posts)Yeah, and that's the part that pisses me off. Trump is not going away for any reason.
If he loses the election, he will contest the results; if he is convicted in the hush money trial, he will continue to campaign for the presidency.
Of course, contesting an election loss will be under different circumstances this time since he's not the incumbent. If the lower courts follow the rules and throw out the bogus lawsuits, his only course of action will be another attempt at blocking the transfer of power.
And I'm guessing he'll have a plan ready for that. And I'm hoping there is a defense plan for that.

(3,572 posts)...from ambivalence and apathy especially with the Gaza war...
...by letting yahu pull our chain we've lost the moral high ground with most of the world's communities and with an ever increasing number of voting Americans who are offended by yahu's relentless carnage...
...no one is going back to the world of October 6th and just like the russians in Ukraine the Arabs have the numbers to keep this going for as long as it takes...many Americans see the Gaza war as just another dead end leading nowhere...another black hole for our depleting money and resources...
...meanwhile who is winning is china, russia, iran and hamas all of whom have a stake in see us decline and weakened...
...it's sad that we're getting blamed...
I dont.

(27,350 posts)Jill Biden said today on "The View" that her husband has met with CEOs about prices. Thank you to everyone here posting what the administration is doing. I have confidence that all that can be done will have been done by November.
I have no confidence in the American people and it's up to them. If Trump wins, pundits will blather on about how he won because Biden was so terrible. It's insane.

(414 posts)There is still so much time before the election for things to go right or wrong. So many things could happen between now and November that will replace the border or Gaza in the news.
I do think some voters may fixate on a single issue to the exclusion of almost everything else, and depending on what that issue is for a given voter, it may impact Biden's margin.
But I don't think the current crises will still be driving the main election narrative in October.
I could be wrong. But I don't think now is the time to worry. Time to work for change, but not to give up on winning.

Not sure what more we can say when M$M keeps pushing this narrative.

What more can Joe do about that he isnt already doing?
The border
Republican wedge issue every fucking election.
Start talking about Americans losing their Social Security and Medicare if Trump wins. And losing health care. The two things that always seem to work for us with voters.
Think. Again.
