(7,605 posts)This tournament is not a major, so hard to figure what security systems were in place. Waitting to hear what it was all about. Looked like red and white powders. Grounds crews were out there cleaning it up right away. I hope it wasnt anthrax or something harmful because they were using rags and leafblowers!! Yikes.

(70,989 posts)Over 90% of paying customers at a golf tournament are not "country club types".
They're just people with everyday jobs like those that go to football, baseball or basketball games.
It's actually cheaper to go to a golf tournament than other sporting events. Thursday & Friday tickets for The Toyr Championship are only 30 bucks.
In fact, 93% of all rounds of recreational golf are played on public & municipal golf courses.
It's people who don't play golf that think it's a rich people's sport.
Of the other 8 to 10 guys in our golf crowd, I'm the only one who ever worked in management.
Sweeping generalizations seldom work out as planned.
Think. Again.
