UC Davis employee shocking public anti-trans tirade at Alohalani Hotel

My 88 yr old, UC Davis Aggie Alumni (DU “lurker” to use her words) mother asked that I post this to DU on her behalf and I am enthusiastically doing so.

Attached is a shocking public humiliation aimed at the trans community during Pride month. Beth Bourne, the Program Coordinator for UC Davis’ STEPS+ Program, tweeted the attached video of herself engaged in a vile verbal assault on another guest.

Here’s hoping Chancellor Gary May does the right thing and fires her immediately for her bragging bigotry.

And her hatred has driven at least one of her children, a soft-souled beautiful human being, away from her.

This was performance art. She could have privately made her objections known to management, but she chose to film herself so she could post her outburst on social media. People like this are full of shit.

This is what gets me, Drag Queens have been around forever. Literally. Like from the beginning of time. So why now all of a sudden in the last few years is there this war on Drag Queens?

Imagine how much happier the world would be if we just minded our own business and let people live their lives the way they want.

I tend to think to think they were allowed to throw tantrums as children with no repercussions......

Hopefully Beth Bourne gets held accountable when she gets back to UC Davis.

Polynesian culture has a word for this, 'Mahu'. "Māhū were particularly respected as teachers, usually of hula dance and chant. In pre-contact times māhū performed the roles of goddesses in hula dances that took place in temples which were off-limits to women. Māhū were also valued as the keepers of cultural traditions, such as the passing down of genealogies. Traditionally parents would ask māhū to name their children." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C4%81h%C5%AB

tonight from DU contributors regarding Māhū. Thank you! It explains the grace and composure this individual possessed that afternoon.
