I think leadership is looking at internal swing state polls and panicking, and that's giving the donors pause. If that's the case, the debate was just an excuse to start the conversation. I'm not sure there's much more to it than that.

We often look for a complicated or convoluted answer when the most obvious is sometimes the real deal.

I think Biden has been a damn good president and if he seemed to be doing well cognitively and up in the polls there would not be a push for him to step aside.

What’s most important is to have a candidate best equipped to defeat Donald Trump and the MAGA fascists. If that person is not Joe Biden, which polls seem to indicate, a change must be made.
