(30,625 posts)I actually voted for him because my parents were GOP. Ford was a moderate and seemed to be doing an OK job. I was only 20 in 1976.
Carter was from the south and I associated him with being conservative.
I voted for Carter in 1980. In 1980, it was proven that the GOP was now the party of Goldwater. So after that, no more

(3,729 posts)Mike Johnson would become temporary VP until someone else is approved through the congress. Which wouldnt happen because of the house. They would never accept a democrat.
Anyone know for sure on how that works? Im sure he would step up. Just not about the process afterwards.
