(51,263 posts)Posting a link gives MuX hundreds of clicks and thus money from advertisers.
Posting content greatly reduces that. Not that it makes much of a difference to Elon government-dependent Musk.

(51,263 posts)3. You can copy-paste text without using an image.
1. You can right-click on the image (or Apple / Android equivalent) and copy the link and paste it here. However, it might require a bit of editing of the link sometimes. Been a while since I stopped going to Twitter so I've forgotten any editing details if any. Might make a photo icon in the DU post indicating a broken picture, but if it is right clicked you can usually select "Open image in new tab" and see it.
2. You can drop a screen shot and maybe a browser image into a posting service like tumblr or imgur or others. I used to use Photobucket but they changed and become useless.
imgur seems relatively easy to use and doesn't require an account to post.

God wanted Donald Trump to live so he can lose to a black woman.
If it's an image (which will be a jpg or png), you can copy and paste it so it displays on DU with a bit of fiddling (which I'd be happy to walk you through). If you do that, you're effectively stealing bandwidth from Musk, so I can't see what objection there'd be from folks here.
If it's a movie, there's no simple way to display it on DU, but often the same movie will have been posted on, say, YouTube, so if you can find that version, you can substitute it.

(9,336 posts)With a third of Americans on X - the majority under 50, why would Democrats think their voice should
not be on Twitter influencing the young? I think influencing the young overrides advertising- but thats just me.
Its amazing the reach you can have - i posted a reply (suggestion) 2 days ago to another persons post about their dogs anxiety about being home alone and got 45 million impressions in 2 days. A political tweet of mine last month got 200,000 impressions. Of course, I was responding to someone with millions of followers. You can definitely influence the young over on X.
Do we want over a hundred million young Americans to be more influenced by Republicans or Democrats ???
