HOA: no more political signs, flags etc

My Trumper neighbor had to take his giant-ass flag down. There is now a US flag instead.

I walked my garbage out right after the Trump assassination attempt. This man ran up to me, upset. I just shrugged. He was beside himself. Dont know what to tell you, sir. I mean, Trumps a violent guy. This shit swirls around him.

Anyway, no more public politics around here. Probably seen as too divisive.

Though people tolerate small displays. Most refrain. TECHNICALLY there is a "no lawn signs" rule, though people turn a blind eye to signs supporting their kids on the HS sports team and the like. And I put out signs with my holiday deocrations, which people in the neighborhood enjoy (at least the ones who say anything say they enjoy them!).

It's a HOA. You accept you don't actually have total freedom over your own property. You agreed to the rules, signed off on them, voted on new ones that do or do not pass. It does keep some of the loony neighbors in check.

I was in one in Seattle that was super restrictive. To the point it dictated what time your garbage can needed to be off the street after pickup. Fortunately I had to move for work.

Small people with big ego's gravitate to the boatds to get power, and then start pushing through rules many people may never see.

Then they rigidly enforce them.

No thanks. Maybe its ok for some, but i prefer a larger sample size for democracy. The same thing can happen on zoning boards of small towns, but it is much more difficult for a zoning board to go cuckoo.

Well done by your HOA. And for some of the posters, not everyone lives in Connecticut, California or Vermont. In some places these signs present security risks.

Just a “for sale” sign that must be taken down when sold. I’ll be so glad to get out of this HOA. House is starting at $525,000 but we owe so much on the mortgage I am not sure how much mom and I will make.

Maybe a mobile home if rents are too high. Have to do a lot of thinking. Working with a real estate agent who could be more proactive that way.

I’m glad the HOA rule was at least helpful in your case.

I'm not having a good day. My jaw hurts from some expensive jaw treatment I'm having bc plastic covers came off my teeth and were supposed to be re-glued on. But the specialist PUSHES against my g**d*** jaw, pushing it backwards and now it aches. I had to take aleve twice. I've never had pain before with this and I'm pissed and worried. Now I have to go back to grind down some rough spots. I just want no pressure AT ALL on my jaw undoing thousands of dollars and giving me symptoms. Really upset

I was having some left-sided abdominal pain earlier. Didn't have any yesterday. I just ate ice cream since my surgery so let me see what happens. What's weird is GB pain is usually on the right side. Now I got medical bills to worry about and a big one came in yesterday. I'm just sick of all this constant expensive crap constantly and worrying about dental and health issues.

If I didn't have DU, I don't know what I would do. The only good thing that's happened is a wonderful person getting me a star.

Of, if after 6 weeks I'm still in pain then they'll know it was not my GB per the surgeon.

And 48 hours to remove them post-election. I thought that to be reasonable. My current one enforces a complete ban, clearly specified in the CC&R's that owners sign off on. Two residences with Trump signs/flags recently removed them, presumably after receiving non-compliance notices.

I batted sown this nonsense last Monday. We aren't going to limit what residents can put on their yards. We ARE going to limit and charge for (and fine without a license) outside businesses and events that litter our borough and never pick that shut up.

I could never live somewhere there's a HOA.

An email came bc someone threw a DEAD DOG next to the dumpster. One thing did happen I found semi-creepy. Some poor kid was sent out to throw the trash away, and was too little to reach up and toss the bags. Ok. Kid too young. He was leaving it next to the dumpster.

Someone from the hoa went thru the bags and ID the kid by his homework. Hmmm. Email sent saying they've found the garbage-leaver and how they found him and there's a fine. Now there's a camera, so I'm always super careful when I throw garbage out. I know the hoa will be relentless in pursuing justice.
