Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI am looking at Morning Joe, what the hell does Mica mean about a woman being President of the US?
Doesn't Mica know that there are lots of powerful women who are/were Prime Minsters or Presidents. The ones that come to mind are the Bangladesh PM, Dominica Eugenia Charles and the most powerful woman PM in Barbados is Mia Mottley. Women are strong leaders. There are a few more like Indira Gandhi, etc. Mica was against SOS Clinton, now she is trying to be nice!

(5,736 posts)President but Comey sabotaged her. I hope he lives to regret his decision to bring up the stupid emails. When little men cannot get their way with powerful women, they stoop really low.

(52,481 posts)PMs are elected by the legislators not the people. Iceland did have a directly elected woman President as have Chile and Argentina. I am sure there have been a few others but they are quite rare.

(5,736 posts)proportional representation. The Party that gets the most votes gets elected and if a female is the Leader of the Party, she is elected PM or President.

(28,546 posts)It too me a long time to get over it, and in some ways, I don't think I have gotten over it. I mean, I've moved on, but with TFG sleeping in her White House, and screwing everything up while grifting the hell out of what he could, it was an extremely difficult time. I hate TFG.
And the bastard just doesn't stop!

(5,736 posts)a strong leader whom the world needs right now. Who on earth wants a wannabe loser who lies non stop and blames immigrants. The pos don't want to debate a strong woman a second time. He lost the first time and the dipshit cannot face her again. The moderators at the debate between him and Hillary, allowed him to bully her. She would have been a great President.

(2,261 posts)which I cant confirm, is that they went to Mar a Lago on New Years Eve to ask Trump for jobs. Joe wanted a cabinet position and MEka wanted to be press Secretary. Trump said no and they left in a huff.

(5,736 posts)they thought trump would hire them to good positions, little did they know that with trump, you have a short shelf life. Dumb idiots. Am surprised they still have a show on MSNBC. Just goes to show that even the progressive networks are not progressive after all.

Mike VERY clearly was doing her best Andrea Mitchell routine on Hill, constantly negging her, and both of the kissing up to Trump until they fell out with him, then then completely changed their tunes.

(15,550 posts)....so it's going to perpetuate whatever group mindset is currently pervasive, and obviously any group mindset is going to represent the lowest common denominator. So it's a great barometer of popular thought, but does nothing to enhance or enlighten that mass mindset.
Luckily, as you mentioned, we have always had great women leaders to inspire, protect, and nurture various societies, in spite of what the current American popular opinion about women leaders might be, and I think it's clear that opinion will soon be changing with the success of our first woman President.

(5,736 posts)on TV is true. The news networks have a way of spinning the truth and as adults, we have to be smart to decipher truth from lies.
If trump were to get back in power, the world would be devastated. He will be hobnobbing with dictators and he will get more love love letters from Jong, Putin, Netanyahu, etc. Ukraine and Palestine, NATO, democracy, freedom, women's & LGBT rights, racial equality, medicare, etc. will be at peril. Try your best to knock on doors to get people registered to vote. We are living in precarious times. We missed our first woman President Hillary, let's hope we get one this time. She is what America needs and also the world.
Think. Again.
(15,550 posts)We're at an extremely important pivotal moment for humanity in many, many ways. Harris must win.
And as parents, our first step should always be to be truthful to our children and help them face reality straight on, so just explain to them the reality that tv companies are set up to sell advertising space to the most possible viewers, and they'll be able to see for themselves that what is on tv is nothing more than what they would call "clickbait".
Actual information will be found elsewhere.

(5,736 posts)people in the world can vote for her. Our democracy is at state and if the menace were to win, can you imagine what project 2025 would mean. It would be a sick group of people taking charge of the greatest country on earth.
I know the fallacy of TV, that's why I don't understand why parents allow their children unlimited TV time. TV is just lies and parents need to start parenting better. Having said that, TV is the children comfort when the parents have to work two or three jobs tp make ends meet. That is an abomination in developed countries.
Think. Again.
