His entire message and appeal is towards weirdo men who believe they are "alpha males" who never should be held accountable.

And the guy didn't even attempt to shoot him. C'mon. It's not an "assassination attempt" if you didn't even attempt it at all.

I just don't see this as an assassination attempt. He didn't even take a shot. I have no idea why he was there, with a gun, in the bushes, but that is the reality that some of these States have left us with. And it's all insane and it's all brought to us by the cult of Trump.

He had food and supplies to tide him over until he had the opportunity to shoot. Routh had a loaded weapon with a scope on it pointing out through the trees at the hole. That's how the Secret Service agent spotted him. He had the means, motive, and intended to shoot Trump, which makes it an assassination attempt even though it was foiled.

2. I believe evidence shows the damage to the former president to have been exaggerated from the first attempt.

I won't discopunt the attempt as real. Different results might have occured under different conditions. It was a tragic day, more so for some of his attendees. I am glad the former president wasn't killed or otherwise seriously injured.

I don't know what to make of yesterday's sequence of events. Per the Secret Service, no shots were fired by the suspect, but it could still be a foiled assassination attempt. There just isn't enough information about it.

That said, the media has better things to do than devote a lot of time to limited facts. That only leads to unlimited speculation.

I don't think this gives Trump any creds. I just can't imagine he is going to win votes from being a near-victim of his own chaos.
