My quiet, demure, modest, respectful, unassuming wife woke up at about 530 AM. I crawled out of bed at 611AM.
I got out of bed, stretched my back for about 5 minutes, tried to shake the cobwebs out, and walked into the living room to say good morning to her.
She had Morning Joe on the TV.
When I walked into the living room, she was so mad that I thought she was going to start speaking in tongues.
I started to say good Morning, but all I got out was Good mo...
She looked at me, red in the face, and started...
WHY DOES THAT MOTHERFUCKING BASTARD GET TO GOLF WHILE BEING PROTECTED ON OUR FUCKING DIME ON AN UNSECURED GOLF COURSE THAT STUPID SON OF A BITCH MOTHERFUCKING DOUCHEBAG CAN STICK HIS FUCKING 9 IRON UP HIS FAT FUCKING ORANGE ASS IF HE CAN GET IT PAST HIS HUGE FUCKING DIAPER THAT MOTHERFUCKER WHY IS HE STILL ALIVE I HOPE HE FUCKING CROAKS I'M SO SICK OF THAT MOTHERFUCKER HE SUCKS THE LIFE OUT OF EVERYTHING FUCKING SON OF A BITCH HIS FATHER SHOULD HAVE PULLED OUT GODDAMN IT WHAT AN UGLY FUCKER THAT GUY IS HOW THE FUCK DID HE EVER GET ELECTED...
She was talking so fast that she sounded like a profane auctioneer.
I just sighed and escaped upstairs.
She's right, though.

(83,446 posts)Cuz if we know our donald, we can count on him to try to cheat, or better yet, just weasel out of paying for it.
And then if he balks and gets sued for nonpayment, all he has to do is waste their time and money, as he outlasts them. Theyll run low on funds to chase after him, and will probably wind up settling for less.
Cuz, remember, he makes great deals. Especially for himself.

(3,695 posts)That Service is also charged with protecting US currency. They had to pull $ from that to cover all his & his adult 'kids' security. LOTS of that money went into Trump's pocket because he golfed all the time at his clubs and charged his detail for golf carts, food, overpriced rooms and such.
Now, it's just my theory, but I assume if anybody wanted to flood the US with bogus currency, that was a good time to do that. Gee... who would benefit from lax investigations into counterfeiting? Wouldn't it save Putin a lot when paying bribes to US pols of the GOP persuasion if he just paid them with funny money? Wouldn't fake currency make money laundering much more profitable? Could a flood of bogus bucks destabilize the dollar on foreign markets, or at least make it questionable as the most preferred currency?
Why, it'd be a two-fer. Get to bribe Trump (and who knows how many GOP congress critters) AND mess with our dollar on the international market! All to keep whiny baby feeling secure on the links?

Add to that, the stress of the election. Did you see the screen shot of his face after the debate? And the stress, after he loses the election.....
If his kids plant him on the third hole "T" next to Mom, we won't be able to piss on his grave. But if they dig a hole in some potters' field, there will be a line out the street and down the block for weeks.
If it's the third hole, I live near Bedminster. S.S. won't be monitoring his grave so I'll be able to sneak in a night for a quick look - sorry, leak or two.

(200 posts)How much Trump makes when playing golf, especially when he was president. Im sure there is a huge detail that has to book rooms and order meals at his golf courses-----follow the grift. Its no secret camp david has golf holes and as they mentioned on morning joe, there are secure facilities elsewhere. What did it cost to fly to Florida or Bedminister, and again plus the hotels and meals But trump wouldnt make money that way. Follow the grift.

(3,007 posts)when tsf and his cult do or say something that I consider particularly heinous. My GSD jumps up and comes running from wherever he is and grabs my shirt and starts tugging. If am am sitting down he jumps in my lap and starts licking my face. He's not a trained therapy dog, but my psychiatrist thinks he may be responding to a scent given off when my BP is rising rapidly.

(12,330 posts)I scan DU (heavily filtered) and Hacker News (heavily moderated) for a ton of news and no anger. I am too old to harbor any anger.
AND, I get to reply without expecting a hate barrage in return.
There's a Buddhist saying that hate is like swallowing poison expecting the other person to die. But also be objective and realistic.
Nobody manipulates my emotions. I choose.
Choose wisely.

TCFSF has worsened a sickness in us all. For his worshipers, it's sociopathy. For those of us residing in reality, it's PTSD. Who on DU has not been stressed out for the past NINE years? I know I have.

(93 posts)I find solace in the fact that Trump was not elected. He was selected -- by the Electoral College.
He's never won a single popular vote except that of a grand jury.
Yes, it seems sometimes that a significant portion of the population has gone the way of Invasion of the Body Snatchers, but I have hope that their undue power is waning, so at the very least in years hence the rest of us can look at them the way a family looks at a family member who's permanently out of their gourd... which they are, of course.

(807 posts)My take is, four years after leaving office, no more SS detail. If you want to keep it, you pay for it. You listen to what they say, they're the experts.
And no detail for grown children. Ever. Minors, yes. Grown idiots? Nope.
It's time we start cutting off the money spigot for politicians. They can come into government basically broke, and leave millionaires. How does that happen on their salary? I'll tell you how: kickbacks, handouts and outright grifting. Book deals and speaking engagements should not be allowed. No fees for doing anything while they're in any office.
In fact, I'd like to see all of them banned from doing books, speaking engagements, joining company boards, university boards, or anything like that, for ten years. Yes. Ten. Take the incentive out of being in office. Do it for the good of America, and or don't do it at all. Go private sector and move on.
