Last edited Tue Sep 17, 2024, 03:23 PM - Edit history (1)

VP Harris is scheduled in Philly Tuesday afternoon for a conversation with the National Association of Black Journalists. WHYY is hosting the event at its Old City office, near 6th and Race streets.

Gerren Keith Gaynor, of TheGrio; Politico White House Correspondent Eugene Daniels; and Tonya Mosley, co-host of WHYY’s “Fresh Air,” are going to be part of the panel speaking to Harris. NABJ members, along with students from local HBCUs, will be in attendance.

The event is not open to the public; however it will be live-streamed, here:

Being able to not only articulate all this but to carefully stay on message about how these policies will help everyone is such a skill.

Oof…now talking re Gaza. Hard, hard subject.

...she's stating a tradionally balanced approach, keeping our ally's needs in front of her decision making while pursuing her principles that benefit and protect our country.

In that, it's a continuous engagement navigating often uncertain actions by the sovereign state of Israel.

...along with the elevation of her office, it's the most comprehensive and inspiring statement I've heard yet.

Everyone should see that. A masterclass in leadership.

She nailed the whole interview. But that moment, where she talked about how the president must be aware of the power of their words, exuded leadership.

There can be no doubt she has the temperament to be president. That’s something that hasn’t been brought up very much. But Harris has now placed that issue at the forefront.

It's an entirely new brand of leadership, and I'm here for it.

The gun questions are important and hard ones. She’s doing well but it’s a nasty problem to be sure.

..there should be some talk about WHO the obstacles are, including her rivals in this race, instead of insinuating that she's supposed to be able to do more with an executive office without comprehensive gun safety legislation.

A 'holistic' response, as she just said.

Marvelous, clear, genuine leader. (Even with hoarse voice.) Journalists asked good questions. Appreciate being able to hear her respond at length.

Such a refreshing thing to see her exude leadership on so many levels, on so many of our national concerns. The care she takes with it all is impressive and comforting.

...there's a hunger out here for VP Harris' kind of leadership.

Love how her appearance is being held up as an example of normalcy against Trump's embarassing and insulting performance.
