...excerpts of VP Harris' NABJ discussion remarks:
"I know that people are deeply troubled by what is happening to that community in Springfield, Ohio, and its got to stop.
"I mean, my heart breaks for this community. You know there were children, elementary school children" who had to be evacuated on what was supposed to be school picture day... "A whole community put in fear."
"The American people deserve, and I do believe, want better than this."
There are far too many people in our country right now who are not feeling safe. Not everybody has Secret Service. Members of the LGBTQ community dont feel safe right now, immigrants or people with an immigrant background dont feel safe right now. Women dont feel safe right now."
"When you have that kind of microphone in front of you, you really ought to understand how much your words have meaning... Lets turn the page and chart a new way forward and say you cant have that microphone again."

But the truth is that if the leader of the free world can't take responsibility for his own words and actions, he better find another job. As Harry Truman said so aptly, "The buck stops here!"

The VP is leading here by reminding the rest of us of our better selves, and what Americans should expect from their president.
Like she says in her rallies: Courts will sort all that out... presidents aren't actually prosecutors.
We need to do our jobs and vote Kamala Harris into office, and leave Trump's legal accountability to the judgment of courts and juries of our citizens.
