Wouldn't it be irresponsible for Harris to take a contrary position on Israeli/Hamas during current negotiations? (Original Post) nature-lover Tuesday OP
Yes it would, IMO. Don't undermine the negotiations Raven123 Tuesday #1

I'm a little offended (for him) that anyone would suggest she undermine HIM.

but she still enjoys freedom of speech and can easily opine on matters she has no control over. What's Biden going to do, fire her? Go on a public crusade against her?

I am assuming that you missed that part. The question was not about "musings..or a comment at a rally or other appearance," but taking a contrary position DURING CURRENT NEGOTIATIONS! That would be a stab in the back to Biden and our entire diplomatic team. I hope you just missed that...

...for all we know, she could be doing this. She's certainly not going to diverge in any great measure right now from the current president. I understand not making public declarations as to what levers the Biden Administration might consider using to gain compliance from Israel, but I'm also very frustrated by Netanyahu's intransigence and his taking advantage of our circumspection and loyalty in the worst way.
