I've actually seen the opposite in my neck of the woods, East Tennessee. MLF1981 Tuesday #2

Here in California it has gone up about 50 cents to a buck. JohnSJ Tuesday #3

Gas was at $2.94 pretty much all summer, slight uptick around the 4th of July, but pretty much consistent since May. Just looked today because I'm down to about an eighth of a tank, and it's down to as low as $2.39, depending on where you fill up.
