A sick realization that Trump and Republicans are going to try and steal the next election.

They know they cannot win fair and square, so their plan is to block and obstruct our democratic process of counting votes, in order to put Trump back in the White House.

We have been warned about this by such experts as Mark Elias but many have not taken it very seriously up to this point. But, it is real. They think they have enough votes in enough states to stop them from certifying the electoral votes. They hope to accomplish this before January 6th, this time around.

With the understanding that the Republicans will say anything and do anything to win the next election, it is sickening to think what they may be able to accomplish.

Our hope is that the vote will be so over-whelming that it won't really matter how much they try to cheat. It will not be enough.

The people are tired of this re-run.

is overwhelming, and they can't cheat. Especially since now we know Roberts is in the tank for Trump too. I suspected it all along, but I know some people thought he "cared about his legacy." I never bought that. I believe the vast majority of Republican officials only care about their personal wealth and power. There isn't a shred of honor and decency to share among them.

in Presidential elections since 1992: Bush v Kerry in 2004. Trump will certainly lose the popular vote this time too and probably by more than he lost in 2020. It’s only the electoral college that keeps the GOP competitive in the Presidential election.

...doesn't mean they have a good or effective plan to do it.

They can and will try to suppress Democratic votes (as they always do). They'll no doubt try to fuck up and delay certifications, demand recounts everywhere they can, litigate everything like crazy, but there's no reason to assume they've got a solid plan to make all of that work for them.

Just like 2020, courts will not entertain lawsuits over what votes to count or how they are counted once voting starts. They can stomp their feet, pound their fists and jump up and down all they wish, but its not going to matter in the end when courts dismiss their suits for lack of standing and on other basic grounds.

...especially if anything pivotal reaches SCOTUS.

I wouldn't call their ability to do that a big plan to win that they are super-smugly counting on (some people here have suggested that).

The bigger Harris's win, however, the better off we'll be. I'm really hoping for a victory big enough her win is clear, if not on election night, by the next morning, and so solid that anything Republicans try will just be an annoying sideshow.

All those swing states with blue leadership, like all of them except Georgia, and especially the Biden Administration. It's so good to hear all the concern from people who "support" Democrats by saying that they are letting Republicans steal the election.

And its a point many people keep trying to make is, every swing State except Georgia is controlled by Democrats. And even in Georgia, Governor Kemp has been clear that he is not tilting the scale for Trump. The only way Republicans can "steal the election" is for the Democrats who control those States to "let" them.

Think. Again.

There are plenty of ways the rightwingers could "steal the election" no matter what ANY Democrat does.

It's a weird thing to say, like saying it was a rape victim's fault because they happened to be there.

One rightwing official on any state's election board could bring a challenge to the results that could then be shunted up to the supreme court.

That's probably why the rightwingers have been setting up so many questionable situations and rules concerning the election, so then those situations and rules can be used later to cause legal chaos.

Those would be Republican votes they aren't certifying. And at least in Arizona, it was fruitless and the people who tried went to jail. Had they been able to successfully not certify those votes, Biden still would've won AZ, Hobbs would've still won, We'd have a Democratic Education Secretary, and one more Democrat in Congress.
It's easy to worry about what Republicans might try, but the places they can try will hurt them more than Democrats, and their playbook didn't work in 2020 with Republican administrations and the Presidency, and almost the same Supreme Court, at least the same Conservative justices.

Think. Again.

Trump? Three times a charm??? A landslide would no doubt be desired, but as we all know, we’ve lost twice before when the SC was involved, which it probably will be again.

Should we have taken steps earlier to appoint additional SC judges to balance the one sided decision making that we’re seeing now?

God help us all if we are left up the creek without a paddle - by our own doing.

I'm thinking THIS supreme court, unlike before has decided that THEY are the law of the land. Nobody can stop them. Problem is IF they install TFG, our country will no longer need THIS supreme court. I'm quite certain THIS court knows that judges will be added if Dems. win. ALL this because these judges are religious bastards that believe Abortion needs to be stopped. I say IF this court does what i believe they intend on doing, this country needs to be SHUT DOWN! We cannot let them destroy our democracy.

There is no surefire master thread-the-needle plan. There are probes and possibilities, hoping from their standpoint that someone can see an opening big enough for a mouse, and they can litigate some more.

I hope the Biden White House and DOJ are not sitting idly by these weeks and months. They must have kryptonite at the ready.

GOP Always CHEATS Because It's the Only Way They Can Win

1968 - Nixon-Agnew dealt with North Vietnam to sabotage Paris peace talks

1980 - Reagan-Bush dealt with Ayatollah hostage takers

1988 - Bush pardons Weinberger and other Iran-Contra traitors to avoid trial and exposing his own role

2000 - Bush-Cheney count on GOP-leaning Supreme Court to “win” Florida and, thus, US election

2016 - Trump calls on Russia for help to defeat Hillary Clinton

The record is clear: In Presidential election after Presidential election, Republicans get away with treason.

We hear, “It’s just politics.” Then we are told to, “Move on.” And while the Democratic Party cleans up their mess, the GOP gets away with it, again.

Thus, today, Treason is a regular part of life in today’s USA and The MAGA think it’s normal to be a NAZI, as well as a cheat.
