(16,270 posts)So they can come into work and shoot up the place because someone ran out on a $2.90 subway fare.
So what if a few innocents get shot or killed - the $2.90 subway fare is paramount and must be avenged at any cost even human life.

(11,424 posts)And he definitely charged the cops with the knife and they tried tazers 2 times to no effect
I think one of the cops caught a round too as he calls out "I've been hit"
Video of it is on Youtube:

(69,662 posts)Maybe cops have better things to do than confront a fare jumper.
I don't approve of just not spending the $3, but to escalate it to gunfire?
Seems like there's no excuse.
Also, what's with tasers failing? We read about this a lot. Why are they so ineffective? And, if they are, what's the purpose of buying them & carrying them?

(11,424 posts)And they didn't escalate it, the guy who pulled the knife and ran at cops with it did IMO
Bystander getting hit sucks for sure.
He had a baggy teeshirt, I don't think the tazer probes made good contact.
Between 2003 and 2013, the period for which financial data is publicly available, the MTAs operating revenues increased by 69 percent. But during the same period, the authoritys operating expenses grew by 96 percent.
The majority of the subway's revenue comes from fares paid by riders. As of August 2023, the base fare is $2.90, but there are reduced fares for people with disabilities, the elderly, and low-income New Yorkers

(11,424 posts)Charging at cops with a deadly weapon at close quarters can & will get you shot though, esp if they tried tazers 1st
