"I think we've reached a significant point. The next 7 wks will be, politically, the ugliest I've seen in my lifetime. All stops are out on the most flagrant, vituperative hate we harbor. The unbridled lust for theocracy & oligarchy will challenge the very existence of our nation._:"
His readers are asking about what they should do in preparation for civil unrest.
Personally, I have begun to stock some non-perishable food items and some bottled water. In a possibly chaotic time, it's a good thing.
I always rely on the Boy Scout rule. Be prepared.
Another thing to think about might be your supply of prescription and OTC meds.
And, if possible, to keep some cash on hand.
Banking might be disrupted, chaos being the goal. Those of us on limited income won't have any room to maneuver. But be aware.
Communications might be disturbed. The Internet? Cellular service?
Heads up, pay attention.

Joe Biden already has plans, the NG is on alert, and state and local officials better be getting ready, just in case. Prepared and letting the people know it. Warn them about what happens when you think you're going to try to overthrow the government. We're not done with the Jan6 idiots, and we have room for a lot more. Force will be authorized, it things start to get out of hand.
But yeah, I plan on having food, water, stuff for the creatures, a little cash (remember, small bills, ones and fives, not twenties or hundreds, maybe some coins). Make sure there's gas in the vehicles, look into maybe having options for heating and lights, November can be cold in some areas. Have a safe place you can get to, if you think your area might not be safe. A friend, a relative, an isolated camping area if you have the equipment.
Yeah, I spend time thinking about survival. My fav genre to read is PA fiction. Most people won't have the means to leave, or to put back food, water and money. It makes it harder, but a few extra things over the next few weeks can help. And you can always eat it when this is all over, so it won't be wasted.
