The simple yet powerful way Tim Walz just exposed Donald Trump

The simple yet powerful way Tim Walz just exposed Donald Trump

"SNIP..........

Leigh McGowan, a social media influencer who goes by “Politics Girl,” watched the speech. She saw how Walz uses simple words to capture a common experience to rally normal Americans toward the common good and against “the real estate mogul, the venture capitalist, whatever.”

Then McGowan did something useful.

She named Walz’s rhetoric.

“It feels like he cannot possibly be real,” McGowan said. “Here’s this man who is masculine without being weirdly alpha, who hunts, who shoots, who was a teacher, who is a veteran. He’s just a good dad and a great husband, and he believes in the nation. He’s not trying to be president, he doesn’t have bigger ambitions, and he’s happy to be second banana to a woman. It’s like you made him in a lab as the perfect candidate.

“He talks to us in common sense,” she said.

............SNIP"

To get home to his wife. There was no talk of grand ambitions, feats of bravery, charging machine gun nests (although he did that, too), or making the world safe for democracy; just the humble goal of going home to his wife.

This very personal goal was echoed by Private Ira Hayes in "Flags Of Our Fathers", when confronted with praise and admiration for what the Marines achieved on Iwo Jima: "All I did was try not to get shot."

I can say is that the guy is sooooooo fucking wholesome, he's like Mr Rogers but for adults.

I'll be extremely happy to have him as our VP, but at the same time extremely sad to lose him as a governor. I don't want to have to share him with everyone!

He sat in his office while we would sit down before class. Inevitably someone would get up and write on the chalkboard in chalk: Quadrophenia or the Quad Squad. That joke went on for months. He would come into the classroom and you knew he was laughing but as he erased the chalkmarks his back was to us. Some people you just have to tease because they are good sports and the guys in our class knew him to be one.

In that show, Chuck Conners is manly, without being a dick.

He's understanding, compassionate, and kind.
Humble, but of course capable and ready to blow bad guys away with that rifle, when necessary.

In short, not a bully or a coward, unlike Il Douche or Couchfuck.

"An idealist who dreams of living in a harmonious world. People with this name tend to be naturally loyal and compassionate. Developing those qualities further can be beneficial.

Service is one of your key beliefs! You know that something is only given once it is earned.

Eager to learn your curious and tolerant essence likes progress. Not the biggest fan of secrets. Rather than keep them you want to unveil them.

Perceiving other peoples feelings on a deeper level is made possible by your distinctive empathy. This essentially lets you read others like an open book."

be they family, friends, neighbors...

And regardless of if the kind of care needed is
a faculty advisor to help form the school's first GSA
a push out of a snowbank or a tire-change
a tater-tot hot dish to eat
care and compassion after a loss of a loved one
advice on snow tires or gutters.

And I'd bet a dollar he has changed a diaper, unlike a certain T...FP who probably saw that as women's work and beneath him, given he bragged that he had never been seen pushing a baby carriage down Fifth Avenue.

The ideal of what people see as normal and relatable. His years of teaching and leadership in the NG show that, because he was successful in those roles, he has that certain mix of compassion, intellect and understanding required for helping to shape and develop strong young people. Informed citizens who understand and respect our country and what we have.

He's definitely the All American Dad on an epic scale. The guy you know you can trust to walk you home or to your car without hitting on you and will protect you if trouble shows up. He also has the kind of manliness that gives him the confidence to be himself while being thrust before thousands of people all of a sudden. He's holding up remarkably well given the whirlwind of a campaign he's been cast into.

Harris and Walz are the people we need in the White House right now, no question.

Now that you mention it, there was a meme that I saw that said that too. Didn't recall it when it made the comment but I can't imagine I'm the only one who sees that in him.

He reminds me of a guy who lived in my neighborhood when I was in college. I was working the night shift at a grocery store and had to close up alone. This guy would show up about 15 minutes before I locked the doors, did his own sweep of the place and then sat in his car until I drove away. He was a retired high school coach too. He was just a good guy who thought it was not secure for me to close up a store and handle the drawers and deposit alone. I appreciated that.

Tim Walz is that kind of guy.

Her sister was driving alone south of the Twin Cities on 35W in the middle of a MN winter on a Friday night when she got a flat tire. A helpful man in a suit and tie stopped and changed it for her. She thanked him and went on her way home. Only when she saw a photo of Tim Walz did she realize he was the man who changed her tire. He was serving in the US House of Reps at the time. She later learned he was driving home from the airport to Mankato after a week in D.C. He never told her his name.

What a guy.
