Top GOP Candidates for Senate Majority Leader Talk About How They’ll Thwart a Harris Agenda

https://www.politicususa.com/2024/09/29/senate-gop-harris-agenda.html/amp

"SNIP..........

The two top Republicans up for the job of Senate Majority Leader if they take the Senate in the upcoming election talked about how they would thwart a Kamala Harris agenda including potential Supreme Court nominees.

Senator John Thune of South Dakota told CNN’s Manu Raju that if Kamala Harris wins the presidency and Republicans take the senate, there isn’t any abortion proposal that would get sixty votes in the Senate and when asked if he could see himself allowing any Harris Supreme Court nominee to be confirmed, Thune said it would depend on who it was.

Senator John Cornyn of Texas separately told Raju he wouldn’t “schedule a vote on some wild eyed radical nominee, which I know she would love to nominate.”

......

Thune answered that there isn’t *any* abortion proposal that would get 60 votes: I don’t think there’s any any abortion proposal that gets sixty votes on the floor of the United States.

Get the word out so people are sure to find out the name of their Democratic Senator who is running in 2024 and vote downballot. Kamala is not the only part of the plan to keep freedoms for Americans.

I hope we keep the senate and increase our members including Colin Allred.

Oh my wouldn’t that be something to have a Woman of Color as President and a Jr. Senator from the Great State of Texas who also is a person of color!

Cornyn will have to fight Thune for minority “leader” both are unAmerican and already proving they do not want to govern, but to create obstacles.

This needs to be talked about more now that they are admitting their agenda.

4. Mitch was first up with his declaration that he would obstruct anything that came to the Senate from the Obama Administr

That worked out for him with the base, but not the nation. His goal was to make sure that President Obama was a one time only winner and that did not work out for him. These guys are announcing their obstruction plans even before the election. Anything these fools do to demonize and demean We The People will backfire, just like Mitch. I don't think We appreciate their desire for control over US.

Cornyn and Thune cannot under any circumstances be the Senate Leader. They have told us precisely what they will do -

Hold us hostage to 60 votes on everything.

Tell me again about the Filibuster and why it's just sooooooooooooo hard to get rid of it. If it takes 51 for a lifetime appointment to SCOTUS - we do an awful lot for America with 51 votes.

rich idiots see that to sit down and bargain on any bills would be the best for our country. All they want to do is obstruct anything whether it would be great or not .

Some of you have probably either read Robert Draper's When the Tea Party Came to Town (original title: Do Not Ask What Good We Do) or caught coverage on TV's FRONTLINE or read media accounts of how Republicans reacted when Barack Obama was elected president. A couple of links for your use and for sharing:
