Why does this continue to not make sense?

Several Democrats, most notable being Sherrod Brown, continue to keep Harris and Biden at arm's length. The Republicans, on the other hand, have no problem bringing in a killer to help with the campaign for a GOP State Rep.

- Tim Ryan's strategy of distancing from the National Presidential Candidate and ignoring Ohio's rural voters - "Whether you punch a clock or swipe a badge, earn a salary or make tips, are raising children or caring for an aging parent, Sherrod is fighting for you.&quot https://www.sherrodbrown.com/) - which gave us J. D.Vance in the Senate and now the Vice Presidency. I wish they would wake up and shake up their strategies to include rural voters. It would likely turn Ohio light blue or at least purple. I'll vote for him, again, because he's done some good for OHIO and the alternative is too gruesome to consider. But, please, get out in the rural trenches before it's too late.

So not sure why Sherrod thinks it will work for him.
I plan to vote for him as well, of course, but I question the strategy.
