Biden-Harris economy dazzles with 254,000 jobs added in September, UE falls to 4.1%

https://www.bls.gov/news.release/empsit.nr0.htm

150,000 and 4.2% were expected.

July was revised up by 55,000, from +89,000 to +144,000, and the change for August was revised up by 17,000, from +142,000 to +159,000.

Wage growth still 4.0%, well in excess of inflation for the better part of a year and a half now.

Massive beat!!!

If there is one trend I have seen in my lifetime it is that America has gotten much dumber AND they are proud of it (to paraphrase Obama)

I hear this all the time on Social media, and even here on DU. Everyone isn't struggling, less people are struggling now than when Harris and Biden took office. Doesn't mean everything is great and everyone is flourishing, there is still work to do. But people, even here on DU, act like non one was struggling 5 years ago, before Covid. Trump's economy was not good for working people, he was crushing labor, wage growth was at a crawl, and less people were doing well with their retirements.

The US poverty rate right now is lower than it was pre Covid.

That's the one thing Democrats have not done well, challenge the GOP assertion that things were so great economically under Trump. They weren't. Wage growth was pitiful under Trump. His jobs growth record before Covid was to average 167,000 jobs a month, that' way way behind what Biden has done overall, even this year. GDP growth averaged less than 2% under Trump before Covid, Biden is cranking out 3% this year.

Trump inherited a strong economy and passed a collapsed one to Biden. Biden and Harris fixed the economy, defeated inflation, and delivered the largest growth in wages for the middle class in generations. The bottom 50% saw their largest growth in net worth in generations. The bottom 10% saw the laergest wage growth on record, they saw more wage growth than the top 10%. Real wages, wages after inflation, are higher now than before Covid.

10. Wage growth

Average hourly earnings increased 0.4% on the month and were up 4% over 12 months. 0.3% and 3.8% were expected.

Inflation is close to 2% over the last year, this very clearly shows people are doing better! And as I've said before, wage growth is even better at the bottom.

If the media were not biased, it would be non stop coverage with this amazing economy.

Trump handed Biden and Harris a smoldering hole in the ground of an economy and they turned it into the best economy in several generations.
