Pink Floyd's David Gilmour Will 'Absolutely Not' Perform With Roger Waters: I 'Steer Clear' of Those Who 'Support Genoci

David Gilmour has shut down any suggestions that he and his former Pink Floyd bandmate will perform together again.

In a new interview with The Guardian, Gilmour said he would "absolutely not" perform with Waters ever again. Gilmour has previously stated as much, citing Waters' political beliefs and inflammatory comments about Israel, Ukraine and the United States.

"I tend to steer clear of people who actively support genocidal and autocratic dictators like [president of Russia Vladimir] Putin and [president of Venezuela Nicolás] Maduro," Gilmour told the publication. "Nothing would make me share a stage with someone who thinks such treatment of women and the LGBT community is OK. On the other hand, I'd love to be back on stage with [late Pink Floyd keyboardist] Rick Wright, who was one of the gentlest and most musically gifted people I've ever known."

Among many other provocative statements, Waters has compared Israel to Nazi Germany and said Russia's invasion of Ukraine was "not unprovoked." Gilmour's wife, writer Polly Samson, crtized Waters on X, writing, "You are anti-Semitic to your rotten core." Gilmour chimed in, agreeing with his wife, adding "Every word demonstrably true." Waters refuted their comments as "incendiary and wildly inaccurate."

I don't give a fuck what Roger Waters has to say, he is a proven anti-semite, pro authoritarian and David is making the right decision.

Meets all the criteria for someone who is nowhere close to as smart as he think he is.
I think their best work was the stuff written or arranged by Gilmour or Wright.

but I will give credit to Roger being a gifted musician, unfortunately, he's a piece of shit when it comes to political and world views.
He should have stuck to making music with Pink Floyd.

(Only available on YouTube, sorry, but just hit the link in the box). Whether you detest Waters or not, watch for Gilmour, Nick Mason, and the late Richard Wright.

He speaks movingly, deeply and eloquently through his guitar. Nobody else has the talent David has.

Saw them in ‘77 Animals tour. Wish You Were Here holds a deeply special place in my heart.

Of Roger Waters, I am not a fan, what happened to his mind?

explaining why they should cancel their Tel Aviv concert -- which had been public knowledge for the previous four months and was due to start within twenty-four hours.

At their concert, Bon Jovi dedicated the performance their song We Don't Run to Waters...and garnished it with an encore...

Amazing lyricist and songwriter IMO. But he's a blowhard and an asshole and has been for a very long time. Gilmour is a great guy.
