On Election Day I think I will just go to bed early, and wake up the next day to see the results. Too much at stake,

and this is all extremely nerve wracking.

It will determine for me what kind of Thanksgiving I will have.

I would too. It will take some conclusive calls for Harris in several states we didn’t count on winning to get me that relaxed, plus several beers.

In 2020 Pennsylvania was called for Biden, giving him the win, 3 days after the election. I wouldn’t expect it to go any quicker this time because as part of efforts to create a false narrative of fraud, rethugs in many states have banned the counting of absentee ballots before Election Day to slow the process down.

As much as I’d love to take Wednesday off work and stay up all it is probably a fools errand and I think I’ll just ignore it as best I can and go to bed.

commentary which will stress me even more... I may be better off at work... At least something is in my control (at least mostly).

I all but think we are headed to a national nervous breakdown (and that is if the unhinged segment doesn't take over with violence). I hate that I even have to mention the latter. A big part of me refuses to think that is possible but we all saw Jan 6, 2021.

Even MSNBC will drag this out as the election will be considered too close to call.

But! We might be surprised if the election is called by midnight. With Abortion rights on the ballot in many states, it just might be women who wins this for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.

but I knew the absentee ballots would be counted last so I was fairly confident. Mr Pip was a hot mess. I told him to be patient.

I hope for the same this time. It’s hard to imagine all those people who voted for Biden are going to suddenly vote for Trump.

I've been contemplating doing that too, just don't think I have the mental stamina to endure an inch by inch nail biter process before we have a clear idea, like you said, too much at stake this time. Normally I would watch MSNBC but don't think I want to hear Steve Kornacki do his thing.

I was about to BURST and took off to visit cousins in - wait for it: *Florida*! Election night I was in - wait for it: *Miami*!

The result started swinging back and forth and finally the networks quit because no final thing was going to happen, so I went to bed. A while later my non-politics aunt *burst* into the room yelling, "GORE WON!!!!" I ran back to the t.v., stunned for a few minutes, until I realized that the network was re-running stuff, and it was one of the moments when GORE was ahead. I was like, Gee Aunt Goofy!

It took several days to finalize the vote in Georgia, Pennsylvania and a few other states. NC usually completes its count early on election night. If NC goes blue on election night then get out the champaigne and start dancing.

I love hearing stuff like "We have an announcement to make. CNN now projects that Kamala Harris has won the state of New Hampshire." Ironically, those kind of announcements will be gone if the Electoral College ever goes away.

The upside: I'll be too exhausted when I get home to care. Wherever there is a pillow, there shall my face be planted.

The next morning will make for interesting reading, though.

In a world where YouTube exists, I increasingly feel less and less need to watch things in real time. That's why God invented highlights.

Also, my friends. They know my sense of humor. They'll send along all the relevant amusing bits.

Would we fight for the truth like they fought for a lie?

I really am interested.
