The word "lie" generally means an intentional falsehood. If someone spreads misinformation unknowingly, like the idiot who started the whole Haitians-in-Springfield-eating-pets kerfuffle, it's not really a lie. It's just a false statement born from ignorance.

That being said, most of the stuff the Post is whining about regards intentional falsehoods.
