Would you pay for this?

CNN has started its "subscription only" content on its website. The first story they are charging for is (slight paraphrase) Swipe Right For a President The 3 Types of White House Masculinity

I know they are hemorrhaging viewers since their rightward turn. Do you think this type of "content" will attract subscribers?

It's been apparent for a while that viewership is not what they're seeking (or not the main thing). They may be clueless, but even their limited critical thinking skills can pick up on the downward trend of their ratings since turning to the right. So something else is afoot.

Anyone can open, read, and share archived, non-paywalled versions of paywalled articles by copy/pasting the original, paywalled article's web address into the 2nd search box at:

https://archive.is/ or https://archive.ph/

But remember to include the original article's source address in your post if you're also posting an archived version on DU.

I wasn't interested enough in that "content" to pursue it, but I guess that's on me. If I did read it, my BP would spike.

A gift to the scum.

Build that digital divide higher and wider.

Another gift to Nazi scum.

I agree with the sentiment, but in this case it seems like the "story" behind the paywall is also very suspect.

People devalue things that are free, and seem to think that a big price tag makes something more valuable.

I think of free and open source software, which created the internet, and some giant companies, Wikipedia, cheap things like my thrift store finds, (Hawaiian shirts made of silk), generics, and so on.

And you know the converse, certain golf resorts among them.

I just checked. Tanglewood concerts cost $15, include lots of lawn and scenery, and great music. Plus, you get to sit there, rather than dodge golf balls and flying ketchup bottles.
