I live in a solid red state. Sometimes it seems my vote is a waste of time. But I know better. Many I know, know better. I personally have many female friends that are right wing supporters. They have always voted republicant. So we're getting close to the election and I finally asked them who they were going to vote for. Out of 10, 9/10, said they will never vote for Trump again. When asked if they will now vote for Harris, 7/9 said yes. I'll take it. r
The other day CNN noted that Harris had more small money donors over TSF by a 3 to 1 margin. Therefore more donors overall. Guess who collects more money? That's right, it's Harris. That's great news.
TSF's rallys have been consistently getting smaller. People always leave early. Harris' crowds are consistently high and no one leaves. Again, more good news.
So what does all this say? I see all these things as very positive.
F the media with their fake poll numbers, their inaccurate predictions(IE: Harry Enten), and their weak bullshit support for the correct person.
I still say Kamala will win. And win by a huge number.
That is all. Carry on.

(54,893 posts)Yet the polls say the race is tightening doesnt pass the smell test.
Still lets pretend its that close and drive as many HARRIS/WALZ voters to the polls as possible, and KICK DUMPs FAT ASS all the way to Russia!

(1,049 posts)polls are so far off. Besides, if we figure that HARRIS/WALZ has thousands of volunteers door knocking and other jobs, well pollsters cant reach them because they are very busy doing very important work!

(4,499 posts)But we know magas are generally happy to have somebody, ANYBODY they can espouse their adoration for TSF to. Seems a lot of them just walk up to strangers in stores and try to strike up a chat about him. Thinking they are pretty sad, lonely, insecure people who need constant reassurance they are 'in' with the gang. But some of them are openly hostile, bordering on violent, and seem to be looking for a fight. They all seem more likely to answer the phone for 'unknown caller' and more that glad to give their opinions.
And one wonders how many polls are commissioned by the GOP and MSM, the former desperate to convince voters he's a contender, and the latter desperate to maintain the illusion that it's still neck in neck so they get the online clicks.
I still cannot figure out what "TSF" stands for. I know it is referring to Trump but I cannot figure it out! Someone, please tell me!

(1,108 posts)When everyone thought there would be a red wave? Because if the polls were suggesting a red wave they completely underestimated the blue vote.
Ive heard NYT/Sienna have corrected their polling so that they dont underestimate the Trump vote again. But did they make any corrections due to the post 1/6 & Dobbs 2022 elections?
Jack Valentino
(1,497 posts)other high-rated polls--- yes, I believe they have "corrected" in Trump's favor---
and I believe that the election results will show that they have "corrected"
in the WRONG direction!

(1,049 posts)Im choosing to rely on Allan Lichtmans 13 keys in which he has predicted Harris/Walz will win.
Hes only been wrong in 1 out of 10 past presidential elections and the 1 was the 2000 election where the Supreme Court declared Bush the winner over Gore. Though apparently, many voters double voted for Gore 1) they punched the Gore selection; and 2) they also WROTE Gore in to be sure it was counted correctly. All those ballots were eliminated which caused the incorrect candidate to be declared the winner.

(54,007 posts)All we can do is get out the Democratic vote. If Democrats vote, we win. It's as simple as that.
Knock on Dem doors, distribute door hangers to Dem households, volunteer at your local Democratic Club office. And/or, donate to the Harris Campaign. As Michelle Obama said, DO SOMETHING. It will help with the election jitters, and get the Dem vote out.

(593 posts)Harris has to climb a steep hill to overcome media bias. I pray to God that she wins in a landslide.

(644 posts)if SCOTUS tries that, it won't work this time.
Again, I can't prove it, but there's simply too much at stake in this election for Democrats to allow that to happen this time.
However, I don't think it'll even come to that because I predict Kamala Harris is going to win by a large enough margin that Repubs can't steal it.
BaronChocula
(2,522 posts)that contradicts what the polls show. Even if some of those 9/10 who said they would never vote for the rapist again were lying (for whatever reason), it's still votes he's lost from prior elections. There are no Democrats for trump as their are Republicans for Harris. It's not even close.

(11,510 posts)So optimistic that any other donations I make will go for a Senate win (I'm equally confident that our next Speaker will be Hakeem Jeffries). A Senate win is coming into view and important for a whole host of reasons so Harris can implement the protections we need on the big issues and . . .
Judges and Supreme Court reform and expansion.

(24,977 posts)Electoral College vote will be closer than 2020. I think H/W will still win it, but narrowly. I just hope it isn't narrow enough for the R's to steal it. Keep fingers crossed, GOTV, and let's ALL work our a**es off!

(13,617 posts)... if they also say they won't vote for, or are unsure if they'll vote for, Kamala Harris, then that MEANS they are still willing to accept Trump in office.
So I agree 7/9 here is a good number in your anecdotal scenario. Definitely take it! These women have apparently thought it through. If it's worth not voting for Trump, it's worth voting against him in a way that actually produces the desired result.
This can and should be applied to all partisan races. If you don't want a Republican in office, you really must vote for the Democrat as the only viable approach to keep that Republican out of office.
NOT VOTING FOR a Republican candidate robs him/her of ONE vote. But VOTING FOR the Democrat counteracts a Republican voter's vote, and robs the Republican candidate of TWO votes!!

Enjoyed your post.

(4,184 posts)this is going to be a blowout. All of this coalition building that is going on is all unprecedented! Add to that the issue of WOMEN ARE PISSED and it's becoming a perfect storm. I'll add, the highest 18-20 y.o. turnout in history was in 2008 for Obama, (20%.) I think we'll see 22-25% turnout this time.
Edit to add: I'm haven't even mentioned that the GOP has no ground game, (that $$$ went direct to Trump's wallet.)
Oh, and WOMEN ARE PISSED!

(7 posts)I think this indicates that most Trump supporters are tired of his shtick and are weary of hearing his BS at his rallies, but they'll hold their nose and ultimately still vote for him. That does mean Harris has the slight edge, but it will still be close because of the electoral map.

(6,083 posts)However, if "watercooler" conversations in the workplace are an indication, where I work, the number of former Trump voters has dwindled considerably. Every Trump supporter who openly said that's who they were voting for has said they're off him now, and while RFK Jr was in, he was an option for about half of them, but now that he's out, it looks like they will either vote for Harris or just not go to the polls.
I've never been able to understand how in the world anyone with any ability to perform simple tasks could consider RFK Jr as a viable candidate. So, I asked. What these people believed, and what was actually the real truth, were widely separated. I made a point to get the scoop on the guy, including video. At first, they were disturbed, then they went back into their "fake news" mode. I challenged them to prove their view wasn't the fake one and said I'd accept and believe what they told me if they could prove it. They couldn't, but I could tell they didn't want to accept the truth.

(526 posts)I'm telling ya, I feel this huge blue wave about to hit. And hit hard. Mr. Useless hasn't won anything since 2016. He's lost everything he's tried to accomplish. He is now a proven felon, sexual assaulter, and a fraud. Hopefully he will be in jail very soon. If he loses, jailtime should be a gimme. He's obviously in this for himself. These facts alone plus many others noted in the post certainly tell me one thing.
Harris will win.
