AZ-SEN: Gallego rakes in close to $22M in third quarter for Arizona Senate race
Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) raised close to $22 million in the third quarter of fundraising for this year in the Arizona Senate race, his campaign announced Thursday.
Gallegos campaign announced the Arizona Democrat had raised more than $21.7 million between July and September of this year, with donations of $100 or less making up 95 percent of the contributions he received. The campaign also noted that more than 271,000 people contributed to his campaign last quarter.
Gallego is running against Republican Kari Lake for the race to replace retiring Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.), and the race for Sinemas seat is seen as a critical one that will determine which party controls the Senate majority this fall. Gallego wasnt the only Senate Democrat in a competitive race to bring in an eye-popping fundraising haul in the third quarter Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), facing a tough reelection bid in Ohio, raised close to $31 million, his campaign said.
Its unclear how much Lake has raised in the last quarter, though candidates have until Oct. 15 to file their third-quarter campaign filings.
