It is not that he is not a coward, but he does tend to double down.
My late mother taught me one thing about creeps..she told me that 9/10 creeps are cowards who will back down quickly if you confront them.
But there is always the one who doesn’t so you have to be extra prepared for the one who doesn’t.

She went to work in the seventies and became a fairly senior bank official. Never really liked it because she only went into banking after finding physics too hard at the doctoral level to continue with. Never really took to banking and missed physics all her life.
