Positive view from Erie PA

My wife is from Erie and still has most of her family here even though we live in California now. We're back here visiting and what I've seen has made me feel a lot better about Harris' chances here. In past elections if you drove around the neighborhoods there would be mostly Trump signs. Now driving through them these past few days I would say it's about 5 to 1 Harris to Trump on the sign count. It's really amazing to see just how many people are putting out Harris signs.

Of course this is anecdotal but it has definitely left me with a good feeling.

Erie Co, PA has been a bellwether county in determining the outcomes of the past 4 or 5 election. Go Erie!

They know what people will think of them for looking like a Trump cultist, so they're keeping a low profile. But... I'm afraid they'll vote for him anyway.

meaning TSF would only get about 16% of the vote, guess what would happen...he'll still claim stolen
election. I see a similar ratio in my red town but I have a feeling it's because way to many reQublicans
are embarrassed that they'll be voting for such a idiot. They are not bragging about him like they have
in the past.

Erie is considered a bellwether county. If it tilts toward Harris, it's a sign she's probably going to win Pennsylvania.

I think it would be fascinating to study the correlation of yard signs to votes. I've seen similar results, areas where, in the last two election cycles, there were scads of Trump signs and few for Clinton or Biden, this time around, there are scads of Harris signs and in some cases, virtually empty of Trump signs. I've been helping to canvass in some of those areas, and I know we have taken signs with us to distribute when we go out, and that likely didn't happen in 2020 because the areas weren't covered in the canvassing. Now there are more than enough volunteers to swarm the counties in the area of Wisconsin where we're working. The other side isn't canvassing, and that could explain the lack of Trump signs, or maybe their campaign ran out of money to print them.

The town I live in is right-leaning but not a bright red stronghold. In 2016 there were "some" Trump signs on people's lawns. A very few Hillaries.

In 2020 there were basically no Trump signs and no Biden signs.

Today, there is a single Trump sign (a Trump flag on a flag pole) and there are more Harris/Walz signs on front lawns today than there were Trump signs in 2016. It's anecdotal, but I have to say this town has flipped from red-leaning to blue-leaning for the 2024 election. Trump has become an embarrassment even to his own people.

That's why El Bastardo and his flying monkeys are plotting - as we speak - to 12th-amendment the presidency to him.

Because they know it's not as tight as the polls suggest - even in the battleground states.

Thank you for that fortifying anecdote, J.G. A breakfast of champions.

Typically I see 50/50 Trump/Democrat signs but this time I’d say Harris signs outnumber the Trump signs by 3 to 1. As you say, it’s anecdotal but I take it as a good sign.

As you say, anecdotal, but that is, I imagine, a pretty conservative area. My wife is from neighbouring Chautauqua county, which she described to me as "white and uptight." Solid Dem. family, though.

no Trump signs. We were in a Republican part of St Louis County last weekend and saw lots of signs for other races but zero Trump signs. In our neighborhood Harris owns the streets. Her signs are everywhere. There is no way she wins MO, but St Louis and St Louis County is probably a pretty good example of urban and suburban trends.
