Trump Compares Jan. 6 Insurrectionists To WWII-Era Japanese American Incarcerees

Former President Donald Trump once again claimed Friday that his supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, were being treated unfairly by the federal justice system.

But this time, he offered a deeply flawed historical analogy: Trump claimed the insurrectionists are being treated like Japanese Americans during World War II who were forcibly removed from their homes and incarcerated in isolated regions of the country.

“Nobody’s ever been treated like this. Maybe the Japanese during the Second World War, frankly, they were held, too,” Trump said.

*snip*

Can't wait to hear George Takei's take on this.

was likely Stephen Miller, Steven Cheung, and maybe Bannon via prison phone stating that they can use the Alien and Sedition Acts to jail opponents, like "was done to the Japanese." Translate that through his dementia-addled brain, and he makes the comparison between January 6 people and the Japanese.

False equivalencies and the fact that history has shown the internment of Japanese AMERICANs was a terrible injustice make the tRump goon squad look even worse than we know they are. Bannon, Miller and Shady Vance can go screw themselves.

Totally absurd analogy. FDR just took them out of their homes and moved them into internment camps based on their ethnicity alone.
