For the last 3 and a half years they have been feeding to the public the talking point how President Biden is to old, with "cognitive issues".
So was it really any surprise when they asked if President Biden was too old, those poll reflected what the MSM had been saying for the last three years.
President Biden stepped down, and VP Harris become our nominee. Within one week of becoming the Democratic candidate the MSM decided people "don't know where VP Harris is on the issues." When VP Harris came out with details on her economic plan, middle east situation, healthcare, abortion, etc. it didn't stop the MSM from complaining that they still didn't have enough details, along with she wasn't doing enough interviews, etc.
After the VP Harris trump debate, the MSM generally said VP Harris won the debate, but unlike the Biden trump debate where they spent weeks trashing Biden's performance, and if he was up to the job, they brushed off the inept performance of trump against VP Harris, with the criticism, "that's just trump, so it is OK." I am sure those Hatian immigrants in Springfield Ohio appreciated when he doubled down on his "dog eating lies".
They used to call Reagan the "teflon president", because any criticism never stuck on him, but the reason nothing sticks with the "teflon don" is because the press makes it so.
Every criticism the press has hurled at VP Harris has been addressed by her, including interviews with questions that the press NEVER dared confront trump with. The only time he was actually held accountable by the press was when he went before the Black Journalists of America, and that interview he cut short.
Now the MSM is pushing the theme that while VP Harris enjoys broad African American support, it is 10% less than the support President Biden had in 2020, and they love to refer to 2016 as some sort of bellwether for the 2024 election pushing the theme that trump support was "underrepresented in the polls", implying the same thing is happening now. Of course they conveniently leave out the important 2016 detail that 11 days before the general election, comey sent an email to the republicans in congress saying they were looking at another laptop, followed by the MSM parading every right wing pundit across their outlets saying the email investigation was reopened for the next 24/7 days, ignoring the fact that was a LIE, and when comey came out late Friday the weekend before the General Election, quietly saying there was no new information to warrant reopening the email investigation, the MSM barely mentioned it.
Yes there are parallels between the 2016 election and this election. When VP Harris went before Bret Baier on fox, and not only answered every question, but pointed out where they had misrepresented information, the criticism from a good number of the pundits was that VP Harris was "too aggressive, was too angry, etc." Not coincidently the same slurs hurled against Hillary in 2016 by a sexist, misogynistic press.
and just a small reminder, in the middle of that week during the comey fiasco, it was bret baier who came out with an urgent report that the FBI was preparing indictments against the Clinton Foundation. That was LIE. A few days later Baier quietly apologized that his "sources" gave him incorrect information. I was not too happy with Rachel Maddow when she was praising Baier at the time for "admitting a mistake in that report", saying "everyone makes mistakes. Rachel, that was no mistake. That was intentional.
November will tell us the answer, but I refuse to be demoralized by the media "speculation" that VP Harris is losing momentum among some demographic groups.
This was the same MSM who predicted a huge red wave in 2022. That never happened.
The MSM should be on their hands and knees with a mea culpa with what they did to Hillary, and doing to VP Harris, though perhaps not as blatant.

(96,837 posts)There is a great line from the movie The Verdict where the judge is interfering with the defenses case by constantly interjecting himself in the defenses arguments.
"If you're going to try my case for me, I wish you wouldn't lose it for me.". This line is spoken by the character Frank Galvin (played by Paul Newman) to the judge, essentially expressing frustration that the judge is seemingly interfering with his legal strategy and potentially jeopardizing his case.

(3,910 posts)they are either COWARDS or COMPLICIT. Perhaps both.
When what they really should be on their hands and knees about is the notion of Trump slithering back into the Oval Office, seeing as how he'd shut most of them down for ever being "disloyal."
