What Liz Cheney just said in Michigan

She is alongside Vice President Harris.

You can vote your conscience and not ever have to say a word to anybody and there will be millions of republicans who do that on November 5th.

She was specifically talking about the Republicans who need not fear voting for the vice president. She thinks millions of Republicans will be voting for Harris. By my estimate, if even ONE million Republicans vote for Harris-Walz it will be a blowout. But I don't make predictions.

Let's be rational.

Tell me WHY Liz Cheney is supporting VP Harris.

Liz Cheney voted with Trump like 99.8% of the time.

How do Trump and Cheney differ?

Don't believe the "Liz supports Democracy" bullshit. She doesn't.

Oh THERE is the rub.

Liz is a neocon believing in American hegemony and world domination.

Trump is a populist leaning to take the US OUT of global entanglements and global politics and war.

The neocons have been working hard since Irving Kristol (not a coincidence, Bill Kristols Dad) and other disaffected Democrats grew tired of the groovy peace and free love, pot smoking and Civil Rights supporting young people in the 60's...

Their dream come true when Reagan was in the WH and the Berlin Wall fell...

Then things got boring being a neocon until Shrub came along and colluded with PNAC and Liz's Daddy starting an illegal war...

Life was good again for neocons until Trump came along and single handedly KILLED the movement.

Liz Cheney and the neocon filth are currently glomming onto the Democratic Party looking for crumbs and helping with foreign policy in Israel (kill everyone not Israeli) and the proxy war in Ukraine.

Bottom line... I want Trump to lose and if Cheney helps, OK...

But for God's sake... kick her to the curb on Nov. 6th!!!!

PLEASE.

See The Political Compass.

Left and Right represent economic theories. But there is also and Up and Down where Up represents Authoritarianism and Down represents Egalitarianism.

She is clearly in the Right side (which is the wrong wide.) But, at least for now, she is equally clearly on the Down side, which is the right side.

We tend to match up Left and Down and also Up and Right. They seem to be natural fits. But it is also completely possible to possible for someone to be Up and Left or on the other hand Down and Right. It's also possible to respect a person who is anti-authoritarian for that stand while at the same time deploring that person's stance on the economic right. Just as most people can walk and chew gum at the same time.

But not everyone is capable of thinking that way. It we could just educate people to grasp two axes, it would greatly improve out electoral politics.

(Here's what I would add - Insisting on truth/ believing what one wants to believe.

The Political Compas (dot org) website has a questionnaire which will give you an idea of where you stand. I'm sure it won't surprise you that I'm in the lower left with number between -7.5 and -8.

I think you are overstating her positions on some things to the point of fearmongering but I'm not going to try to argue with any of it at this point. I'll just say you are correct that she should not be considered a long term ally of the Democratic party in any way. But if she can help Democrats win this election, more power to her (thru November 5).

It's like an author chronicling the history of the New York Yankees...

It doesn't do anything other than outline publicly known facts.

She has created this persona for professional, media and political consumption.

I ASSURE you that she's more committed to the principles of Neoconservatism than she's concerned with "Democracy" other than THEIR definition.

Her interests center around destroying Trump for 1) vengeance and 2) rebuilding the neocon brand.

I'd suggest reading Neoconservatism by Justin Vaisse, a Senior Fellow at Brookings.

It's a religion with those folks. Liz Cheney is a zealot.

For VP Harris and the rest of us... she MAY be a useful idiot up until 11/5... and I appreciate that... but she's still a skunk

they're against Trump. Harris winning is the only hope they have to gain back control of the RNC and have any hope of ever winning elections ever again.

Liz and her traitor father aren't on our side. They don't care about anything we care about. They won't work with us once Harris is elected, they'll actually turn on us.

All this celebrating about how many Republicans "support" her, or will be voting for her? It's wishful thinking. Good grief, are people's memories that bad? Do they forget so easily?

No, mark my words, once we win, Trump will be prosecuted and imprisoned, they have their party back, and then we'll be fighting them. Better mark the day, because it's coming.

This working across the aisle came back and bit Obama in the ass. I hope Harris is smarter than to fall for this.

Mrs Bozo and I sit at the kitchen table and fill out our ballots together, discussing everything.

Not that there's much to discuss: we both fill out the box for "all Democratic", then move to the non-partisan sections. But it would make it difficult for one of us to secretly vote for, say, RFK Jr.

to hospital during a miscarriage didn’t have the same ramifications as it does now. Women are literally dying or getting to the brink of death before being given necessary medical assistance.

The current laws in those states with an abortion ban are draconian in the extreme. Even those with exceptions for rape, incest, to save the mother’s life, or because the fetus will not be able to survive out of the womb.

Circumstances have changed, making even pro-life supporters rethink their positions.

Everyone is dealt cards. She has plenty of money. Relevance, then, becomes her presence.
Perhaps this experience will be cathartic. Regardless, she is on display as an American fighting for democracy.
Suspect she is aware of her family's place in history and this support of the Constitution softens that view.
She has had a constiuency to support her conservative values.
We don't have to agree with them, but she got elected to represent them.
Isn't that America?
