Out neighborhood was very quiet until early voting started. Then all hell broke loose. Democratic volunteers came every day. Kamala's army is huge. They are everywhere. The state democratic party sent instructions on on how to vote. We live in a swing state.
My ballot was mailed. It got to the recorder in one day. They verified my signature and it's in the vault ready to be counted. Our voting system is wonderful. It's the best in the world. Tell Trump to take his lies about our elections and put them where the sun doesn't shine?
The whole family is going solid blue. Many former republicans. Country first. Many young voters newly registered between 18 and 25. All going blue!

They tried to cover it over with Musk's money by hiring contractors. But contactors are not enthusiastic volunteers.
Trump is relying on the corporate media to do his advertising and propaganda for him and he expected the Evangelical churches to do the door knocking.
But for whatever reason that never materialized. Some churches were standing around holding signs on the corner but here in very red, rural TN, the Evangelicals never came out to knock on doors for Trump.

The doom and gloom around here ( the polls! The polls! ) is getting tiring.
We are going to win and win big. 💙

Trump signs are proliferating, a new one today 'Trump low prices, Kamala high prices'
and 'Trump No Crime, Kamala Crime'
I can't imagine anyone being swayed by such nonsense, even ignoring the facts.

(1,429 posts)And far fewer Harris/Walz signs then youd expect. Does that mean Arlington isnt going to vote overwhelmingly for Harris/Walz? Hell, no. Just like everything else, Trump has changed civility. If you put a Harris/Walz sign up, it gets destroyed overnight, so voters arent doing it. And some dumbass Trumper made offensive signs we just have to ignore. (I put my signs in my window).

(144,656 posts)and although the Hatch Act doesn't forbid stuff like lawn signs, i know before I retired as a fed here in Philly, i always had to "cool it". In my office, it was to the point where we couldn't even put up a pic of Michelle Obama and the girls at our desks - only a printout of the "official" Obama portrait.

The fact that SS will be insolvent in 6 years under orange man should give EVERYONE pause.

(1,231 posts)The federal government and its programs CAN'T go "insolvent" or "broke." That is a LIE that has been spewed by Koch-backed interests who do not want to pay their half of the FICA taxes.
Any 'shortfall" can be easily made up by using the general fund, just as SSI is paid through the general fund.
Trump isn't going to get elected anyway. He can't do fuck all about SS without congressional approval.

(54,141 posts)We are hoping for a blue Congress, but we know Kamala will win California.
In California, the mail-in ballot is counted as soon as the county registrar of voters receives it, and you can track it and see if it has been counted on the county website!

(315 posts)the name of the game is: TURNOUT.
There's a reason why the Republicans engage in voter suppression; why they engage in Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt tactics.
Listen to the late and unlamented Paul Weyrich (Co-founder of the Heritage Foundation) explain the reason:
When we come out in numbers; we win. It's that simple.
