a caller on thom hartmann was talking about something he heard (i think he said from neal katyal)
it was something about how the house, by a one majority vote, could throw out all the votes in pennsylvania and katyal said he was worried about that
anyway, i googled:
Speaker Johnson appears to confirm a secret election plan with Trump
House Speaker Mike Johnson appeared to confirm Donald Trumps claim Sunday that Republicans have a secret plan to win the election.
By definition, a secret is not to be shared and I dont intend to share this one, House Speaker Mike Johnson said in a statement.
The Republican speaker, who led a key legal challenge to the 2020 election, has worked to stay close to Trump and has been hesitant to contradict him. At his rally in New York on Sunday Trump said they have a little secret in the House that will have a big impact.

(28,834 posts)Don't believe it for a moment. If it really was a secret, they wouldn't be talking about it publicly.
It's a distraction, and it's working.

With enough time, Trump believes he can lie his way in or out of any situation, including a loss on November 5th.

(2,168 posts)dream, nothing based in reality) that right after the Election, Johnson steps down as Speaker and they elect Trump to be Speaker (valid until the new House is sworn in). He would then do whatever anyone in the GOP wasn't willing to do to fight the Election, with the full weight of the Speakership.
I don't know how that's supposed to work, or why, but it was a weird dream I had. GODDAMN, I need this Election to be over. LoL

'it will be okay' pollyanna corners of their minds. Relative to psychopaths, we people are pollyannaish. Then Trump will threaten again and again voters will say 'he doesn't mean it' which is delusional denial pollyanna making bad things look good. Then Trump will threaten again and again people will get paranoid of what Trump will do then retreat into pollyanna denial where there is less pain and you say to yourself 'well, it will not be us who are attacked'. Do you see a pattern here? Like when you get your car stuck in snow (Prime Minister Chretien of canada famously used this analogy) you rock the car back and forth till finally it gets over the barrier and drives forward out of where it was stuck. Back amd forth the car goes building up momentum over time overwhelms your morals and ethics. You are now accepting of the Trump campaign rhetoric and out of the pain of paranoia scenario because you are all about conspiracy/denial theories and cannot distinguish what is real but you need to hide under a 'leader' who has the power to protect you. Fascist rely on this lack of ability to distinguish truth to pick up followers. And the sudden lack of empathy in you. How to you stop this? Expect the fear bombs and baiting coming from the Trump in a periodic fashion. Accept them as bombs (sometimes true, sometimes not, but always painful). Don't go into denial. Believe him the first time that he is trying to cause pain and is a fascist who could carry bad things out. Belly breath. Don't go into denial. Let the pain of fear and not knowing for sure build a place in you where you park unknowns. Cry because it hurts. Then you know the patterns of the rollers. Then you win.

(18,881 posts)Its not a plan to throw the election to the house because that can only happen in the case of a tie.
