(34,519 posts)trump's plan to declare himself the winner early on. But at the same time--what if the American people surprise us and it's Harris who is clearly winning in a landslide at 7:00 or 8:00 p.m.? 🤔

And, ultimately, it doesn't matter. He can say whatever he wants. It won't change the results.
A Harris victory will probably not be evident that early because some GOP-controlled states changed when ballots can be counted, a move intended to drag out the process and potentially create confusion. One of those is PA, which is probably the tipping point state.
That being said, if the margins are big enough, it may not necessarily be official early, but obvious, as you noted. That would make it difficult for Trump to say much of anything.

(20,315 posts)(Except for South Carolina), that is, all of New England, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, D.C., Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, then it'll be all over before bedtime, and it won't matter what TCF says.
It's a lofty goal, but the way things are going, quite do-able.
