The Economist endorses Harris

'I did not see this coming': MSNBC hosts stunned by 'powerful' new Harris endorsement

A "powerful" endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris from a fiscally conservative publication has stunned the host and guest of MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

The endorsement from the United Kingdom-based publication surprised Sorkin because of its historic dedication to conservative economic ideals such as free trade and characteristic support for conservative fiscal policy.

The Economist argued that Trump supporters were “deluding themselves” about the dangers a second Trump administration presented to the global economy and national security.

"You cannot imagine [Harris] bringing about a catastrophe," the endorsement reads. "We hope that a second Trump presidency would avoid disaster, but Mr. Trump poses an unacceptable risk to America and the world."

MAGA is not "conservative" by any stretch. Classic conservative economic theory includes elements of caution, risk assessment, cost-benefit, and historical reference. Harris is, above all a pragmatist, and as such would take a much broader view on economic priorities, to include bipartisanship and compromise in order to enact legislative goals. Trump/MAGA is a wrecking ball, and it's a good thing that conservative economists see it for what it is.

person, publication, representative on the political center/right seems to be endorsing KH, yet Trump could still win? None of this adds up. If Cheyney, Ah'nold, FUDick, and countless other republicans are putting country over party then the numbers just don't add up. They can NOT win this election, not even close, with just maggots, they need to take a good part of the middle ground even IF THEY KEEP their own coalition, which they don't appear to be keeping.

I don't have any numbers, but none of this adds up. If moderate sane thinking Republicans in positions of prominence are coming out for Kamala, why wouldn't a good number of moderate, sane thinking Republicans who live down the street not do the same? At least in comparable numbers? I don't see how any of this points to a close election.
