(7,849 posts)I'll probably be watching something on Netflix, like The Diplomat which just released it's second season. I've already watched both seasons but I'll watch it again with my laptop tuned into DU.
unless the reports are so bad that I'll have to turn it all off, get out the brandy and fat rolled one for panic attack prevention.
Or if the reports are what I anticipate as a landslide I'll do the above in celebration!

(10,397 posts)My days start at 4am. Tuesdays are raid night (gaming with friends thing). Once that winds down, it's 8pm and I'm beat. So faceplanting into a pillow by 9p is my usual mode.
But if it appears that we may get a definitive call, I'll try to stretch things a bit. No later than 11, though. I do not need the next day to be exhausting. Things to do, things to do.

(35,616 posts)I'll check in here when I can. But I don't get to go home until after the last polling location has sent its ballots and other election material back to the BOE in a vehicle with both a Democratic and Republican courier. That will probably be between 9 and 10 PM. (I'll be on the "job" at 5:30 AM.)

(56,896 posts)A week ago, I was planning to be right here in Düsseldorf, trying to stay awake.
Now, unexptectedly, I was called back to Dallas for 3 days, and I am flying over there on Tuesday, so, I will be spending Election Night back in the good old USA, in Dallas, Texas.
I will be jet-lagged and totally out of it at about 7PM Central Time. Is the USA still on daylight saving time? We just went off it last weekend. So, 10:00 PM in Dallas will be either 4 AM or 5 AM for my body clock, I'll be shutting down whether or not I want to.
Most of my European friends (remember--Europeans have a pessimism gene that we don't have) are warning me that Trump will win, and the world is in for some misery the likes of which we haven't seen since 1942. I tell them to remember my updated version of Casey At The Bat from January, 2021:

(2,675 posts)so will be getting ready to go hiking in the English countryside - no media.
Our ballots are already dropped off at city hall. We voted ASAP. If people over there ask me about the election, I will say "I'm Canadian" and change the subject.

(215 posts)My husband and I are voting as early as possible on Tuesday, then getting in the car and driving to Canada. I need a mental break. I am even going to try not to look at the news until late that night or Wednesday morning. I know a lot of people love him, but Steve Kornacki gives me anxiety.

(444 posts)Ill be inside a polling place in Reading, PA. We stay until the votes are tallied and verified and machines are broken down. Last time, it was 10:00 pm before I left- polls close at 8. This time Ill need to be very observant. I dont trust the MAGAnuts around here - Im believe they want trouble.

No point getting all worked up about it. There's a good chance we won't even know for a while.
