It actually arrived on Friday Nov 1, but today was the first day I was able to take pictures of the order.
I ordered 1 2.2 Oz Fine Black Pepper, and 1 Southwest Seasoning.
I got a FREE "I Will Vote 11.05.24" mini Penzeys Pepper bag and pin.
I also got a FREE "Cooks Vote" sticker.
I am getting paid again at the end of this week, and will be making another order to support them.

(2,234 posts)stocking up on holiday spices. They have a Loot Our Store special going on I think till Monday. 50% off in store and 25% off online orders. They open at 10am. I got there at 10:03 and the lot was full. I had to park and walk. Made me very happy! Got all my spices at 50% off and other goodies (Penzey Pepper, Florida Pepper, and yet another Choose Love mug which will be a Christmas gift to someone because I already have three). Ive been a Penzey customer since the mid-80s when I sent for a little black and white spice catalog from an ad in Country Living magazine.

(4,643 posts)I know about Penzey's; I love the shop in Columbus, OH and the qualify of Penzey products. "Love people; cook them tasty food" hangs on my fridge. However, I don't know about Belle's Breads...do tell...

(388 posts)Just a group of French method trained Japanese pastry chefs who create desserts that are to die for. Theyre on the other end of the centre. Be sure to check out the gift shop on the opposite side of the sidewalk.

(502 posts)I don't have cash to spare but I had to place an order with them. They are my kind of business. At least my family knows what the moms and grandmoms will be getting a spice gift for Christmas. My order had 12 jars so that takes care of 10 people. I am keeping two.

(113,131 posts)and order whole black peppercorns. You won't believe the difference. Amazon has a few grinders under $7 and I think 3 of them under $6, so you don't have to break the bank on a three foot high monstrosity you'd see in a pretentious restaurant.

(7,395 posts)I'll be ordering their peppercorns at the end of the week as part of my next order.
I like "grinding my own"
Both pepper and coffee (I buy the coffee beans by the pound and grind them as I use them)

(113,131 posts)I've always loved the smell of greshly ground coffee but as soon as water hit it, I lost interest. Good or bad, it tastes like battery acid to me.
I have a little Cuisinart spice grinder. I use a manual job for the pepper.
I suppose the preground stuff is good for things like pfeffernusse, where a quarter cup goes into the dough (that gets tedious quickly when you grind your own), but I like fresh ground for everything else.

It looks very much like the following:
For my peppercorns, I have a manual grinder, that was given to me as a birthday present by my previous boss about 11 years ago.
It is from the Middle East and is nice and decorative. It too has a hand crank. It looks like the following:

(11,165 posts)I had to say unfortunately I had just been to Penzey's a few weeks prior and bought pretty much everything I needed then.
She said the store was packed with customers, adjacent parking lot was insane.
