What a wonderful community! I cant express the gratitude for the kind words, advice, stories, and love I received from this community going through that ordeal. It was a long, shitty, draining, and expensive week. You all were a buoy that helped keep me afloat! With as much as was going on, I didnt have the time, nor the emotional strength at the time to reply to most of you. For that, I sincerely apologize. Just wanted you to all know how much your replies meant to me. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all!
Sincerely,
Glam

(11,994 posts)But I think Im all cried out now. There will be recurring moments of sadness and loss, but I think the funeral and internment dried me up. Doing much better, thank you!

(11,994 posts)It was a good thing! She had been diagnosed with Parkinsons in 2019 and Lewy Body in early 20. I havent had a conversation with her in at least two years (not really) and then she couldnt walk, couldnt talk, didnt recognize me, couldnt feed herself .brutal. Im so glad shes been freed!

(279,690 posts)She was late 90s and didnt recognize her kids, grandkids or any of us.
We want them free but losing those we love is still painful.
The good news is that in time the best memories remain.

(11,994 posts)But I may well be spent on tears. If I cry again, of course thats okay, Im not super macho guy. But her passing was actually a happy occurrence so hopefully itll just be moments of sadness and loss.

(52,475 posts)your experience with her a few years ago. You have done so much in every way possible for a long time. She knows that you were caring for her and she loves you very much. I hope she visits you like my dad and dogs did after they died. It's very comforting and pretty damn cool, too.
