Oh you must mean from the time Trump announced his candidacy..
I considered the Kerry election already dire on account of the Iraq war and climate change. But every election since has gotten even more surreal and scary.
I was thinking of the Trump era. But the Bush Jr. time was no picnic either.

We're gonna need a new Reconstruction. And not call it off for some back-room deal like the first one.
When youre the only one in the family who isnt a MAGAt 😢

Cults legitimize some societally unacceptable behavior, such as hate, violence, racism, misogyny theft, and so on
In exchange, cult members lose their souls/identity to that of the group.
Lots more, but I want to share that here.
Yes, they made me learn cult and deviant psychology, in an amateur way.
I cant say that understanding makes it any easier to deal with, but it does compartmentalize the rage, and
YES, THEY ARE SICK, driven by 24 by 7 by 365 brainwashing that hits some pain point to get them started, and
Its all downhill from there on.
Recovery is painful. Similar to addiction.

(4,728 posts)the airwaves have been dominated by right-wing propaganda. Drive time talk radio is very effective at brainwashing. Rage and fear are addictive, it becomes a feedback loop.
It's easy to fall into the trap. Then they get sneered at, which only confirms their bias. Hate the sin, love the sinner takes an AWFUL lot of patience. More than I can often bring to bear.

Just look at your MAGA family and friends as useful idiots for fates bigger purposes.
As far as we know Trump's extremism might have moved the whole country to the left for all of these kid's future. I know I am for sure interested in what direction the GOP goes post Trump. When you have Liz Cheney talking about extreme abortion bans the goalposts may very well have moved
