He's the best of the best and I am proud that he was my president for awhile, and even more proud of his accomplishments for humanity since then.

Deserve to see her inaugurated! And know that the day has finally come. He's still lucid so he will know that it came about.

He faced historic challenges, and vile backdoor negotiations to tank the hostage release deal - deliberately keeping Americans in hostage custody so his campaign would continue to publicly suffer for it.

His is often considered a failed Presidency. I think that's overly simple and deeply unjust. From everything I have read about him, James Earl Carter Jr. is a caring, hardworking, and fundamentally decent human being. He did the best he could with incredibly tough circumstances, and he got short shrift in the media and public eye. He wasn't perfect, but he was treated unfairly in some ways.

I respect the hell out of him and, knowing what little I know, wish we had more people like him.

His vote being sure to count is just one more reason.

Go with God Jimmy. You have my blessing.

Your name will continue to make me smile until it is my turn to go.
